Morning All
Happy Birthday Thriftlady
Having a quiet day today as I had abit of spotting yesterday. Nothing to worry about really but under orders from DH not to do anything apart from look after DD.
I'll do some light dusting and abit of ironing plus I need to sort something out for tea. I think it'll be hm pizza from the freezer.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Morning everyone
Happy Birthday Thriftlady
My broadband modem finally arrived yesterday :j :j :j
Can't believe how fast it is and can't believe it has taken me so long to get it sorted.
Tomorrow is my work Christmas party. I already have a dress that I picked up in June for the purpose of a Christmas party. Organised or what?!? However I have left it to the last minute to get shoes, accessories, bag, etc.... So heading out today to get this.
Tried to dye my hair last night a kinda blondish colour (I am a redhead) but it has barely made a blind bit of difference. This was me trying to economise and not go to the hairdresser and spend a fortune but my hair needs something stronger to change its colour.
Well plans for today are shopping, packing my bag for tomorrow (staying over at hotel where party is and going there straight after work tomorrow morning)......and if I have time I might run round with a duster and the hoover
Have a great Friday0 -
Ooo, it's been a long week! I'm glad it's Friday.
Happy Birthday Thiftlady, enjoy lunch at the pub.
I too dug out the Christmas decs last night; one set of fairy lights has died but the other still works (Not bad considering we haven't used them for 5 years!)
I also got my head around Christmas shopping yesterday, bought a couple of gifts and got ideas sorted for lots of other people. My Christmas cards arrived from my Mum last night, so I need to write them today. Anyone know the last posting day for cards to Oz?
Have no idea what we're eating tonight, I've got a £10 voucher from pigsback to use up, so we might go to the pub, or pizza hut.
Have a lovely day :wave:0 -
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday ThriftLadyHave a good one.
Just cleaned the kitchen - boy did it need it. Bits of paper everywhere - I think the whole [STRIKE]room[/STRIKE] house is my "hotspot". As they say.
Next will be moving stuff back into the dining room.
DD wasn't very well last night - she's got a stinking cold. She's still gone to grannie's today. Doped up with calpol. Poor little soul.
I'm off to work in 1/2 an hour so I'm getting as much done as I can (hmm so that's why I'm sitting on MSE:o )
Now it's december I can start thinking about Christmas - I refuse to do so before it's time. I know if I started earlier I would avoid the christmas rush at the shops, but it kind of spoils things for me to start earlier.

Morning everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday Thriftlady! :bdaycake: have a lovely day! x
Well, this is the first day without my car and I slightly feel like I've lost an armthe outside of the house looks bare with no car sitting there and for a split second this morning thought it'd been pinched lmao doh!
Catching up with h/w today as STILL haven't gotten round to having a good clean, gonna also dig the Christmas deccies out from the shed and dry them off lol not putting them up for a couple of weeks yet though, littleys bedroom is still in the midst of being wallpapered so might put a couple more strips on today if I haven't run out of energy with all the cleaning, done my back in last time I did some so am a bit dubious but it has to be done and no-one will do it for me
Have a good day peoples xx0 -
Good morning everyone,
Not much news from the house of Valentine at the moment - things are very low key as I'm exhausted and grumpy and don't have a lot of energy to do very much. So things that I would normally easily achieve are being left - OH is picking up some of the slack but he is out a lot and works hard and being a man is kind of slapdash at cleaning and tidying - so I feel quite stressed about the state of the house/garden.
We are having 2 friends over for tea tonight, something I would usually really look forward to - but I am dreading it as I am so tired. I went to bed at 8pm last night and slept straight through until 6.30 this morning.
I am struggling with the pregnancy just now - as I feel so cr*p - seasick and tired and emotional and worse of all - I can't tell anyone why or even go on about not feeling 100%. I think my work is suffering but I am trying to put on a brave face.
Sorry to post sounding so sorry for myself but I always thought being pregnant would feel so special and blessed and I just feel like sh*t. 8 weeks tomorrow though so if I can get to the New Year, then things should pick up and hopefully I'll start to feel better.
Joannasmum - Look after yourself and make sure you rest up today. Thinking of you.
Lots of love to everyone,
Valentine xxx0 -
Morning All
I have another day at home on my own today, so I really must get the kitchen sorted. I've just done one mystery shop on the way back from dropping the LO's at nursery, and have another one this afternoon.
I wish I could keep on top of the kitchen, but it just seems to fill up with 'stuff', and the LO's love emptying the cupboards so I always seem to have a few tins and cutlery on the floor.
My one luxury in life these days is my cleaner who comes for 4 hours on a saturday morning - she is unbeleiveable in the amount she gets done, so at least once a week my house is tidy - she even folds the clothes in the airing cupboard if she gets time (please don't throw me off the old style board for that confession).
I have also been to B&Q this morning, to buy a board to glue the train tracks to, as DD rips them up each time DS tries to lay them, so I will be painting it this afternoon.
Hopefully I will have a good decluttering day today

My best friends daughter had her first baby last night - or this morning I should say at 2am - weighing in at over 9 lbs:eek: baby Harry!
Day off today, need to go to Tescos for a bit of shopping, am on a very tight budget for the next couple of weeks before Christmas so plan to dig deep in the freezer and get menu planning and make a list - must stick to it! am also planning to make some mince pies this afternoon.
Mrs_Mix glad you slept well for a change;)
PP - hope you have a nice drive out and that DH is feeling better.
Also going to put some books on Amazon to try and make a bit of extra cash.

Morning all! Happy Birthday Thriftlady :bdaycake:
Haven't been able to post for AGES because I've now rejoined the ranks of the paid employed  however today is special for me because I'm flying off to Germany to the Christmas market with three of my friends - I'm so excited!
Not much OS being done today, I've been sorting out all my liquids to put into a plastic bag, it's embarrassing how many creams and lotions I need to keep this old body stuck together every daybut I'm all packed now and ready to go - have to wait until 2.30 this afternoon for my lift to the airport though :rotfl:
PP I hope things go well for you and your DH :grouphug: and hugs to anyone else needing them today.
Yay, Advent Calendar day as well, I had a bag of bird seed behind my first door:rotfl:
Have a great day everyone :snow_grin
