If you go onto mysupermarket - baby section - nappies - and scroll down the page, it is towards the bottom of the pageDTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

Just had a run in with my local store - they insisted their new training said they HAD to keep my receipt - couldn't give me a copy as they didn't have a photocopy machine. They said I could go back to the original store and ask them to print me another but I don't often go to that store, and since I've just been (hence the voucher) I don't expect to go again for a few weeks.
As it was almost closing time on a bank holiday I thought there was no point asking them to ring head office to check - but I am not happy - I think I have a right to keep my receipt. What if I need to return anything, or if the bank make an error with the amount they debit from my account, surely I should have the receipt as evidence?
I know others have had this problem in the past, and the general reply has been that it's just shops making up their own rules - just wondered if there really has been a change now? Is this worth complaining about, do you think?
I think you are making a fuss about nothing!
You've got a lovely lot of shopping and a NEW receipt which you can recycle again. Why on earth do you want to kick up a stink over the old receipt?0 -

After mucking up today on the sonic toothbrush and getting the wrong mouthwash, which will only get me a £10 voucher instead of £20, the sa ripped the receipt when taking it out of the machine, and i asked him to print another one, which a supervisor did. Now the date at the bottom of the receipt reads 25/04/01If you don’t speculate, you can’t accumulate. :beer:0

Because if they find a human finger in any of the products, the first thing Tesco will ask for is the original receipt.
It's the bill of sale belonging to the OP. I think that should be clear to everyone.0 -

Point taken! However, I really genuinely am one of those sad people who keeps receipts! I have piles and piles of them (neat piles, that is, in chronological order, and all logged and recorded), and I do check my bank statement every month. Maybe it's sad but I like to keep on top of it.
The point remains though, what if I had bought something I needed to return. Surely I should be able to keep my receipt?0 -
In my haste today to get the new receipt before the SA could even think about signing it, I pulled it from the machine a little too quickly and the corner ripped off. I must have looked a complete idiot when I attempted to pull the teeny strip of paper from the machine! Gave up and asked him to retrieve it (which he did without question). It's now been taped up and is waiting for a £20 voucher tomorrow!0
