Well, today, I only had a few things so decided to use a basket till for the first time. Don't know if that was the problem but she shouts very loudly, did you just print this voucher from a computer? We've been told we're not allowed to take anything printed from a computer. I'll have to stop the transaction & you'll have to go to customer services. I said very quietly, it should just scan, I've used them before. No, she says, again very loudly, you can't just print vouchers from a computer..& then faffed around calling some-one to take me to CS.
Anyhow, not too much of a problem, except that it is my son who amongst other departments, actually is in charge of CS.
As we turned the corner, you guessed it, there he is.
Oh, & they're not allowed to serve family members either..and he's a stickler for rules.
Fortunately there was some-one else on with him, so as I waited in the queue with the assistant holding my shopping, I was hoping I wouldn't end up in front of him. Sighs of relief when I was directed to the other assistant. Of course, she didn't know what to do with the voucher either, so had to call him over whilst he told her what to do.
I think I may have turned a little red but of course neither of us acknowledged each other. I was going to do a second shop but thought it safer to skedaddle back home in case this computer generated voucher thingy was new policy & I was re-directed to CS again. May risk it later this afternoon.
Oh, by the way, I'm not a newbie..to MSE or this thread, but I foolishly registered with something too close to my name when I first joined MSE so thought a new start, particularly on this thread, may be advisable.
I think you should wait till its his day off next time0 -

Will report to SS later.
I have just bought 2 at two different shops - both had £12.00 sels and went through at £12.00 - this is the big PINK one. I did notice the white one next to it had a sel at £6.00?

Hi,
just come back from a DTDing trip!
No lamb (DH dying to get his hands on some - but no joy again), but got the beef (loads of at my local). However, just read that the weight has to be over a KG - mine is exactly 1kg...............will it work??0 -
Well, as I had a day off yesterday, I had 4 vouchers to use instead of 2 so I though I'd try my luck. I split my shop with the dividers after picking my till operative carefully. I explained I had 4 small shops, was that ok? Of course.
When I handed him the first voucher and he did his bit whilst we chatted politely about him having a day off. He then started on my second lot And started telling me a little story about how he caught someone out the other day using 5 vouchers in a row. Gulp gulp.
I clarified he was ok with my 4 lots because if he wasnt then i wanted mine and my moms shopping and the other people would have to do their own. He said again that was fine. I was a little confused but did not want to push it. He then went on to say he didn't mind my shops as there was only a few items (finish tabs and loreal creams), apparently the lady the other day had loads of stuff per shop and didn't pay
anything for £100 worth of items. How naughty!
I paid just under £1 for my 4 lots of shops with £17 to £20 value vouchers. He even bid me a nice day and said how lovely that someone actually chatted with him.
Tomorrows plan, do my hair nice again and put a bit of make up
on!!!:rotfl: but maybe stick to the two shops! Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -

Wot! ...& spend 20 vouchers in one go?:rotfl:
I knew about this promotion but steered clear for a long time, didn't want to embarrass him or cause him any problem. When I looked into this thread & saw how lucrative it was I mentioned it to him & he just shrugged & said go for it.:D
Sadly, checkouts isn't part of his brief. The staff really need educating but it's not his place to do it. I don't think they've been over run with vouchers though...I think it may just be me.0 -
Nobody bought it but Mr.T customer servives gave me cash just for asking if they are accepting vouchers.
I was refused two vouchers in that store before - though on a different shift and thought it would be safer to ask first, than to do my shoping and being marched to CS.0 -
