The item has to be on both Asda and Tesco websites to compare and check when you go to buy the item it is the same price as they tend to change prices very quickly. Before you actually leave to go shopping check asda and tesco websites again incase they have changed it.

Note, Tesco does not use it's own website to compare. Sometime if you are logged in to tesco it will only show you items available at your local store so you may not see an item that you can still buy elsewhere. What matters for DTD purposes is the price that is on your receipt, and whether that item is on the ASDA website

Ahhhh is that why i cant find the rack of lamb in my store but it is on the website please? I normally check both websites before i leave to go down there to check if tescos or asdas prices have changed, and sometimes when I get there , i have all the prices written down , the price has changed in the store.

it is by ZXing team and called barcode scanner

That's the one I installed, and I typed in the address you gave, and when I click on custom search it says it cannot be opened due to the barcode information being incorrect.

Do you happen to have any Lake district cheese or the Wolf Blass white, as these are the items I tried, and if it works for you then maybe I made a mistake with the address (I did double check it)

Whey aye, ya bugar a hell - there's loads of us. The annual party is at Kingston Park later this year.

Avoid Gateshead - 9.7 on the Troutometer. But then Gateshead should be renamed Tescotown as Tesco have bought the whole of the burg! The recent upsets in Bristol could well be small fry when the full understanding of this is revealed.

I had my first altercation with a member of staff today in Gateshead but I can't post it now as intemperate language was used - not by me I hasten to add. I shall report this more fully after the witching hour of 21.00 hours when all children and those of a nervous or fragile disposition will be tucked in their beds.

Sorry. Looks like I'm buying "with crystals". Can't believe there are two different types!

I've been buying the toothpaste with the crystals as well and it has always come back as £1.50

    ATTENTION ALL ANDROID USERS

Dont know if this has been mentioned before...

My OH has just figured out how to use the barcode finder to bring up asda's price. You need to download the barcode app, go onto custom search, type in http:// groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=%s (with no space after http:/) save that as your custom search, scan your item and press custom search and HEY PRESTO :j tried it on a few items and up it pops on the asda site on your phone

we used the app by ZXing team

Fantastic idea. Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea and adding it to my Android DTD Calculator app. Great way to make sure you really do have the right product - if the barcodes match then presumably there's a higher chance it is.
