Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 5

Been to Tescos today, I had a receipt that had a deduction (£20) for my previous voucher on it. I was told I could not use my new £20 voucher in my new shop as it would be going round in circles and Tesco would be paying for my new shop. I said if this was the case then it should be in the terms and conditions she said it was in their instructions she was sorry but on this occasion I could not use the voucher. I asked to see their instructions and she looked through her file telling me she had read them and passed the message to all the other staff, she obviously could not find them and went away to phone head office. She returned after nearly half an hour (with me waiting at customer services desk) and said the person she had spoken to had agreed with her, and furthermore the person she had spoken to had pointed out that is was not possible for me to have two £20 vouchers as the limit is £20 per calendar month. I said this is not correct it is £100. She insisted she was right. In the end after they had changed my defrosting frozen items she took my voucher and gave me a £20 note to pay for my shopping as a gesture of goodwill!!!. What do I do now, I have another voucher (no previous voucher used on this one) but if they really believe it is £20 per month they will be looking out for me. The only other store is a 40 mile round trip. I feel like writing a complaint but I do not want the attention it may bring.
Email or call customer services, they will confirm that she is talking a load of b*llocks! The store will probably get their knuckles rapped and you'll prob get sent a money card0 -

Ignore me, I had a spelling mistake hehe.
I can't scroll the page that opens though. Any idea why that is?
Right, I copied the link that you posted originally Jodie, then saved it in an email. I then opened the e-mail on my phone and copied the link and pasted it. Now when I do custom search on the cheese it takes me to google saying that the asda site (and then the number from the barcode at the end) could not be found?!?
I'm really puzzled nowSW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14

The number of Price Check requests is limited to 10 per calendar month per household and the total amount of Price Check Vouchers that can be claimed is limited to £100 per calendar month per household.
From the t&c's
another story of them not knowing what to do.
done 2 today, both went through, 1 kept receipt, 1 did not.
i would just try the store again.0 -

As it is now past the 9 0'clock watershed, might I be permitted to let you know about my first awkward DTD experience?
I am an older bloke, past the first mad flush of impetuous youth and I tend to be civil to all, but I do to get a bit upset with rude people. Enough of the background - on with the tale!
I called to a strange branch of Mr Cohen's today to use a DTD voucher. The voucher itself was a one that will be familiar to many who follow the DTD thread........three yogurts, a can of salmon and some non DTD things.
The young man on the checkout did not have any experience of these vouchers, and called for a supervisor. This lady was in a bad mood or perhaps had taken a dislike to me for some reason.
"How can you get £14 from a spend of £11", she inquired looking at the old receipt?
I gently and in a civil manner explained the promotion to her, and pointed out that quite simply on these goods Tesco were indeed more expensive than Asda - hence the DTD voucher.
"Ah", said she, "I see what you have done! You have only bought three yogurts rather than the four which are upon special offer"
"Madam", I replied, "I had not realized that it was necessary to buy four of the things when I require only three"
The lady then had the audacity to ask, "Why do you only buy three?" a second time.
I was upset but really prepared to go into my buying habits with a stranger, so I answered her thus:
"For my Jeremy's"
"What do you mean" quod she?
"I have troubles with my Plymouths, and I find the cooling aspect of the
yogurt to be of a beneficial nature. But I do not wish to discuss my medical condition any further with you."
She ignored me and turned to the young checkout man (who was obviously a Viz reader) and simply said "Scan it" and stormed off. The young man was barely able to control his delight as he finished the sales transaction.
Oh how I chuckled."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"
