As it is now past the 9 0'clock watershed, might I be permitted to let you know about my first awkward DTD experience?
I am an older bloke, past the first mad flush of impetuous youth and I tend to be civil to all, but I do to get a bit upset with rude people. Enough of the background - on with the tale!
I called to a strange branch of Mr Cohen's today to use a DTD voucher. The voucher itself was a one that will be familiar to many who follow the DTD thread........three yogurts, a can of salmon and some non DTD things.
The young man on the checkout did not have any experience of these vouchers, and called for a supervisor. This lady was in a bad mood or perhaps had taken a dislike to me for some reason.
"How can you get £14 from a spend of £11", she inquired looking at the old receipt?
I gently and in a civil manner explained the promotion to her, and pointed out that quite simply on these goods Tesco were indeed more expensive than Asda - hence the DTD voucher.
"Ah", said she, "I see what you have done! You have only bought three yogurts rather than the four which are upon special offer"
"Madam", I replied, "I had not realized that it was necessary to buy four of the things when I require only three"
The lady then had the audacity to ask, "Why do you only buy three?" a second time.
I was upset but really prepared to go into my buying habits with a stranger, so I answered her thus:
"For my Jeremy's"
"What do you mean" quod she?
"I have troubles with my Plymouths, and I find the cooling aspect of the
yogurt to be of a beneficial nature. But I do not wish to discuss my medical condition any further with you."
She ignored me and turned to the young checkout man (who was obviously a Viz reader) and simply said "Scan it" and stormed off. The young man was barely able to control his delight as he finished the sales transaction.
Oh how I chuckled.0 -
The number of Price Check requests is limited to 10 per calendar month per household and the total amount of Price Check Vouchers that can be claimed is limited to £100 per calendar month per household.
From the t&c's
another story of them not knowing what to do.
done 2 today, both went through, 1 kept receipt, 1 did not.
i would just try the store again.
I would try the same store again but the policy they have is that only team leaders can sign the vouchers so I am bound to come across her again. It was really not nice, I was embarrassed and kept saying its not in your terms and conditions, she actually admitted to me she had not seen them. I said to her that I had and I would not be standing here arguing my case if I had not read them first.0 -

Sorry just wondering then from this can we only submit 10 requests per calendar month... if you are putting in found receipts would you use up your 10 very quickly? Or is it only 10 successful claims:question:0 -

All the updates we have received are finally up to date - it takes us hours and hours to catch up on the flood of updates we get in after the voucher rush as we receive several hundred in the space of minutes. There have been several people working on it most of the time since 12ish.
Just wanted to say that we do notice and appreciate all the work that the SS editors put in, particularly during holiday times such as this.
Hard enough keeping up with the thread but big :T:T:T:T to you all for working so tirelessly just for us :A:A:A:APlease do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'
