i for one would like to thank tesco. without going into details. we have struggled. and for the past 6 weeks or so we have eaten "proper" food and used "proper" washing powder. we have eaten "posh" food instead of the value range. it has given us the breathing space we needed, and i will be forever grateful. i for one will be very sorry when this ends.
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.

Sorry, but that is not something I would be proud of myself. So many shops, with the promise of the same tomorrow, is simply taking the pee, and it is an attitude like that which will mean the demise of the promo, and ruin it for everyone else.

I've heard stories of how this promo is making a world of difference to some people, giving them the chance to eat and drink properly, something they could not normally afford to do. Clearly this does not apply to yourself - people who are struggling financially do not walk around Tesco with an iPad, and buying Whiskey and Southern Comfort.

    well each to their own,
if hes got the balls to do it. and obviously the store is not stopping him.
if its a big store i doubt if the DTD is even noticed.

yes this helped us out, as been out of work. (got new job in may :D) and it was getting a bit tight so this is a welcome break.

I didn't realise that this promotion was only aimed at people who were struggling financially?

Clearly I should be spending my hard earned money from my 2 jobs else where if that's the case?

anyone who uses the spreadsheet or the thread to target specific products(which if people are honest thats probally everyone on here) is abusing the t+c so whether one person does 1 shop from it or 7 they are still not in the spirit of things so to try and blame one person is pathetic..

    Errrr no.

I've been target shopping for months now. Cupboards are full of Branston beans, quantamatic refills etc etc. I always shop to take advantage of offers, it's the sensible thing to do. Breaking the T&C's is another matter entirely.
  • Yes, no and yes.

It's a little confusing as the pictures of the products look very different but the one T uses to compare is the 'Large Beef Roasting Joint', on Rollback priced at £4. It's always been that one. We worked out ages ago that the right barcode is 023658 XYYYZ, where the X represents one variable digit, the Ys the price, and Z the standard barcode 'check digit'. If you make sure the price is £8.48 per kilo and the unit price is >£9 you'll be fine.

    that's brilliant news thanks.
i'm new to this and i was worried that asda had increased the price to match tesco. i've checked the barcode and it definately starts 023658. I think the weightis approx 1.2kg so fingers crossed we can enjoy a nice cheap piece of beef on sunday. Its something we can rarely afford to buy.

    thankyou for your help

    Dolmio Question....

I bought a couple of the Dolmio bolognese yesterday, but realised when I got home that I had picked up original, today I went to a different store and was looking for Dolmio light, as per ss, but all I could find was 'low fat' is that the right one?
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

These are not the correct magnums , There are 2 that are on special at £1.44 The ones you want for DTD are the £2.29 ones , Almond, White Choch and Classic .[/QUOTE]

i got 7 packs today all at £2.29
