I used to be a pampers snob too but I use tesco basic nappies now and would NEVER waste my money on pampers rubbish again. The basics have never leaked, last for longer than one wee and she never gets rashes. Best £1.91 I spend every week...unless I go to Sainsburys then its the best £1.41 I spend every week!

Sorry, but that is not something I would be proud of myself. So many shops, with the promise of the same tomorrow, is simply taking the pee, and it is an attitude like that which will mean the demise of the promo, and ruin it for everyone else.
I've heard stories of how this promo is making a world of difference to some people, giving them the chance to eat and drink properly, something they could not normally afford to do. Clearly this does not apply to yourself - people who are struggling financially do not walk around Tesco with an iPad, and buying Whiskey and Southern Comfort.
I'm inclined to agree, blatantly flouting the rules like this will kill off the promo. I feel guilty using my new phone that I used my double vouchers for just to look at the mysupermarket webpage that I have stored my few goods in to get the best DTD deals I can. And although I have 2 great vouchers of almost £20 (my first one was for 6p :rotfl: which I used over a month ago), I only used one and paid the extra £6 odd cash. My hubby looked at me strangely for picking 3 boxes of Magnum's but with my terminally ill father not eating proper meals it's the only way of me keeping he's weight up.
I must admit tho I did do the 2 normal purchases yesterday without any DTD vouchers, and put the Bacardi thru seperately as a special treat for hubby. It'll probably still be sitting in our cupboard 4 years from now as we don't drink as a rule. :ARaising awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK and Macmillan... doing a sponsored 10k skydive for both charities.

Just came back from an absolutely awesome shop. I just completed a possible record breaking 7 (SEVEN) coupon purchase all in one go.
I had my boy with me to help me out though. bloody hilarious walking round with my iPad shouting out exactly what he needs to pick up!!
Shop 1. Cost me 30p after £20 coupon!
Shop 2. Cost me 50p ditto
Shop 3. 94p
Shop 4. £15.08 for Whiskey & Southern Comfort, complaining that I will have to use my credit card on this one!!
Shop 5. £1.80
Shop 6. £1.93
Shop 7. £2.47
A grand total of roughly £160.00 worth for just over £23.00 with hopefully £140.00 worth of coupons from Mr T tomorrow. The young girl on the checkout was very impressed with my cunning saying "You certainly have this sussed".
I just said, see ya tomorrow with a similar shop.
I might use my flip camera on my next shop and post the film on here for a laugh. Even thinking of buying a 32" TV using just coupons and seeing if the young lad on electrical will accept it. He can only say no, its not allowed.
All I would say is perhaps best to keep a little below the radar by maybe not shouting out your list and secondly not doing 7 shops at once. The most I have done at one time is 3.0 -

As I'm male, I'm not sure they'd be so accommodating for me! I've got to the stage where I tell the SA before they've even scanned the first item so they can put their red light on well in advance. I always tend to go to potential 'trouts' too, but they've all been lovely.
I'd love to see a 'friend of Martin's' - I'm going to be keeping an extra close eye on people's baskets/trolleys tomorrow...
Another good one is to go to the guys wearing their own clothes, i think they are shelf stackers who get called onto the tills when it's busy. They never ring for supervisor and don't even ask for old receipt, i just tell 'em to scan it and type in the amount.. Jobs a good 'un!
I only manage to get there once or twice a week hence the double shop, and i usually have my baby with me. I'll keep an eye out for you!

thanks thought I would not try as didnt want to bring too much attention to myself at the tills0 -
No as I'm a Pampers snob but the Asda baby event starts next week so that could make DTD on baby items interesting.
As for doing more than one shop, I admitted earlier that I had 6 transactions through the same till today. Quite often I stick to the spirit of the offer or at least the T&Cs while everyone else around me abuses the offers. Most of what I bought today I would have been buying anyway albeit I targetted the DTD items. Should I have only gotten a couple of DTD items and made sure the rest were cheaper in Tesco or do I split the trolley into multiple transactions so I could get more than one £20 voucher?
I'm not sure that I would have the balls to have used the DTD vouchers on these transactions as well as getting more DTD vouchers at the same time but each to their own. Tesco will withdraw this offer fairly quickly in my opinion as so many people are taking advantage. Should I or others limit ourselves to a couple of DTD items a day or do we make the most of it while it's working? I'm not saying I'm right in what I did but having just had another baby and being on SMP, I will take whatever I can get to help make ends meet.
Thank you again to those who have been working on the spreadsheet. I have managed to grab some fantastic bargains and I will probably be back once I have confirmed the items are still DTD so I can stockpile. As Mr T says ....... Every Little Helps and if they are going to try and outsmart Asda and lose then who am I to not take advantage?
I'd say make the most of it; you might pull back but theres still gonna be people going wild on it!0 -
Same here - my kids are delighted to be able to take named things in their packed lunch instead of tesco value everything! hope they don't get too used to it though, I can only store so much!!!!mymerrywidow wrote: »i for one would like to thank tesco. without going into details. we have struggled. and for the past 6 weeks or so we have eaten "proper" food and used "proper" washing powder. we have eaten "posh" food instead of the value range. it has given us the breathing space we needed, and i will be forever grateful. i for one will be very sorry when this ends.
Please, pretty please!:D0
