Thanks Kaz, what colour scheme is she after? There was a decorator at my posh house the other day painting away, me the clueless one and still living on 1988 prices asked how much he charges......£120 per day one room a day, I nearly swallowed my duster, won't be getting a decorator in then .... I'm far too tight lmao
Have a good one tonight, Mrs Sexy and congratulations x
Sorry I missed your Birthday LW- sounds like it was fabulous xx
Valli- has your DS or DD been in touch yet then? It's amazing what you have done for them so I hope they have xx0 -
Morning all,
Been to mr T's - needed plain hotdogs for a church children's event today, taken three different trips to get them - why given shops are open almost every day do the British insist on shopping as though for a siege when there is a bank holiday about?
Pizza cooling, will cut into slices and then we're off - a dozen small children to have fun with this morning and lunch with parents after, should be a good time!
This afternoon Operation "sort this house out" starts - committed to a bootsale on Monday as a good way to concentrate others minds on decluttering..:rotfl: I've already started..:j
Oops, is that the timebest fly away..
Have a lovely day everyone,
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Morning ladies!
One VERY stiff flylady reporting for duty!
We started at Edensor (pronounced Ensor) and walked to Pilsley over hils and vales. we came across a field of young bullocks who were most intruiged by us and came to the wall of their firld for a fuss - photo was taken of them all looking longingly at us over a wall, and some were scritched (a scratchy face-tickle I do to the cats - word came from C. Schulz (Snoopy).

Hellloooooo, happy long weekend, especially for the employed amongst us who have some extra days off and a short working week next week.:wave:
Need a coffee and think about what to do this weekend.
DD1 is moving back in...and there really isn't room so this'll be fun.:o
I have washing to do but am refusing to do too much housework as I have spent the last few weekends, shifting, sorting and doing and I want some fun time.
Did I mention my silkie chicken died this week, she went peacefully so just the three hybrids left now. They seem happy enough.
Have a good one folks. Off to find coffee and a bacon butty.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Morning all
Dusty I agree with what has already been said, go and enjoy your me time and (((hugs))) dreams can be so disconcerting, especialy wen they are about loved ones who have passed.
Valli Sounds like a lovely walk.
OH his out for his run with Dogbot but not much flaying happened as yet other than opening the windows as I didnt get to bed til 6am and really need my coffee.
Kids can clan their own room, so Im going to give every were a quik once over to make sure it looks presentable should we get visitors and then enjoy the long weekend."Let your boat of life be light, pack only what you need- A homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone who loves you, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two enough to eat, enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink, as thirst is a dangerous thing" Jerome k. I think £120 is quite reasonable lol. One of my friends got some estimates to get his LR done, it is a large room with high ceilings. One of the cheapest quotes he got was for £150 which he thought was great. However, he did manage to get someone for £75. The only problem is, he cant do it until May (he got the estimates in March) as he is so busy!
(((Dusty))) - I dont think you are being unreasonable, but probably nephew didnt give him a chance to refuse. Especially if he wants to work at your OHs work IYSWIM? Or probably it was OHs sister or brother that insisted he did it?
I really need to get my bum in gear today. My list has grown and grown and I havent managed to do much.0 -
Morning all,
We got back yesterday from a lovely holiday in West wales. The sun shone everyday, and we had a great time.
I've just skimmed the last page so i hope everyone is ok.
I have soooooo much washing to do :eek::eek:, i've done 3 loads this morning so far, 1 is on the line, i is in the td because Ds1 needed a tshirt urgently so he could go out, and the other load has just finished and needs to go out on the line. I also need to unpack which i hate so will be putting off as long as i can.:o0 -
Morning!
Have been up since sparrow f*rt today - had the entertainment of waking all three of the splats up in revenge for every other morning of my life when they get me up. Got whinged at by one, squeaked at by another and meeped at by the third, who was delighted to see me awake because she LOOOVES me
So cats fed, one is passed out in the veggie bed apparently trying to photosynthesise, one is sleeping on the stairs and one has disappeared - probably furring up my bed covers in the sun coming through the bedroom windows.
Gone over the kitchen again (it is a dirt magnet), done WM and a huge load of stuff has been brought down to wash before sending to the charity shop - if I can't be bothered to wash and fold it, I may as well pass it on to someone who can.
Just found out I miscalculated the number of teabags left, so will have to wander out for them later, as a whole weekend without tea is too horrible to contemplate, but other than that, I am actually ready(ish) for a long weekend without shopping - unless I go to the garden centre (again).
DD is still snoring, but I shall let that pass, as she will be the one paying for it next week when she is back at school for two days.
Being so close to the town centre, I'm used to hearing a rumble of traffic, the police helicopter and a few sirens (on route to the hospital or from the fire station half a mile down the road) - but there is nothing. Nowt. Not a peep. Even the birds have gone to sleep
So Im having a cuppa, thinking about whether I want some toast and feeling quite happy this morning.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Morning all
Hugs, dusty. I'd feel like that, too.
Hex - I think that's why our house looks as bad as it does. I find it really hard to make myself do stuff when I'm the only one who bothers.
Looks like everybody has had a good (or at least reasonable) start to the long weekend.
Things are decidedly frosty here after I really slipped up yesterday. DH told me out of the blue that he was coming with us when I'm taking the kids for a week's caravaning on the East Coast at Spring Bank - after saying for months that he hates caravaning, only rates holidays abroad and I could go by myself. Instead of telling him how happy I was that he changed his mind my face must have spoken volumes. He's really unhappy now and I feel guilty. Will have to wait and see if he changes his holidays back again and stays at home. I know it's selfish and I shouldn't feel like this, but I'd really been looking forward to a week alone with the DSs.
On a positive note the car passed it's MOT (£120 incl full service) and DS2's wardrobe is stocked up. Going to go and find my get up and go, as it must be around here somewhere - after checking my budget until payday. The lists for this week are almost untouched and I also want to go out with DS2 for a bit and do school work.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

OH has p!ssed me off big time. Turns out nephew is visiting because he wants OH to go through his cv with him and hand it in to OH work. OH has never helped with our boys homework, shown no interest in DS1 and choosing a uni or anything. Nephew has never once sent a thank you note for birthday or Christmas presents/money. Am I being selfish and acting like a child?
I am off to the shower and then going out into town on my own for as long as I want to or else I am so going to say something.skintscotslass wrote: »(((Dusty))) - I dont think you are being unreasonable, but probably nephew didnt give him a chance to refuse. I would wait till you have calmed down, pick a good moment and say why you were upset by what happened.
If he can't explain why he behaved differently for his nephew then 'say something' - loudly and forcefully!0
