Most of the bins have been emptied - just the kitchen to do (Dr Dragon will do that one and chuck the bin bag out when he gets home - I couldn't bend over to get another one!)

i found dysons to be crap too. (sorry!)

i ended up saving and gettng a second hand kirby and I don't know if i could ever go back. Would love to upgrade to a newer one (mine is a G5. dh used to seel the G4 back in the mid nineties. Think there have been about five more generations since. maybe more) it was definitely money well spent as it was (apparently) a unit used to clean a small guest house and I have now had it for five years and its still going strong! Should probably get it serviced soon but I will add that to my 'to do' list once i am off on mat leave (only three weeks to go. :D )

I have a Kirby also it is a G4, it must be about 18 years old now and it has never been serviced, still lots of life in it, although I think it does now need a new roller brush. It is great at picking up dog hairs.

    today I have completed levels 1, 2 & 3
also WM, DW, washing up, walked dogs and washed out smelly wheelybin

skintscotslass I have fitflops too, and I love them!!! Helped with my dodgey knee too. Kinda like walking in sand sorta. I could walk miles in them :) Good investment :) Cant remember who you were recommending them to now? But they are totally worth it :)

and lastly - what is a lily beetle? and will it put me off planting lilies?

I was recommending them to juliejim - not that she asked for a recommendation, lol. I have 3 pairs now. I asked OH for a pair at Christmas and because it was out of season, they were cheaper, so he bought 2. Aww!

(((hugs))) for LoneWolf - please try not to torture yourself. And is it just me that thinks kissing is unprofessional??

Oh and I'm a dyson fan. Absolutely love them. Mum and Auntie have them too. Auntie has a long haired German Shepherd and dysons every day.

I would also like to know what a lily bettle is, but I have no plans to plant any lilies...I like nice easy things to grow. Btw, of those of you who are keen gardners, you might like to know that the Beechgrove Garden is back on. I remember a thread on the GF Board that some people preferred Beechgrove to GW.

DD has got her prom dress...hurrah! We just need to work out how she is going to get her hair done when she has 2 exams on prom day. One is 9.30-12.30, the other 1.30-4.30. Hmmm, if it was only one or the other, it'd be ok.

Anyway, my large book case is now gleaming. It hasn't been touched for months! I've packed up my uni stuff in a box and OH will put it in the attic. I've also had my dymo tape out and have labelled the box files that are remaining on the book case. I couldnt be happier ;)

OH is making dinner, so I might have a quick file and shred while thats happening :D

DS2 and I have been out in the garden for HH weeding/collecting dry grass. I'll aim for a HH garden tidy every day this week and it should look a lot better by next Tuesday. :D
Also had a quick tidy round downstairs, but couldn't hoover, as DS1 has kidnapped it to do his bedroom.

Totally agree on the kissing. *shudders*

I have had people try and kiss me in a redundancy situation! I have just issued you with your notice, and you are trying to kiss me . madness *double shudders*

Lilly beetle are horrid little red beetles that eat the flower buds on lillies and fritilaria. You have to squish them or lose the lot. Mainly a southern plague but they have been moving steadily northwards for some years. I am East Midlands and have had problems for some years now, shame because I love lillies and frits.

Quite a lot done, mostly outside. We now have a secure chicken pen which is a result. Most of the washing is still on the dining table though :o and I have heaps of ironing to do.

Cringe cringe cringe. What is wrong with people? I blame Pop Idol, Britians Got Talent etc. Everyone seems to need to weep in public and kiss and grab everyone else. I should say here that I am completely chicken hearted and can cry at the drop of a hat. But not in public (unless its a funeral) and not on strangers and not at inappropriate moments!

So its seems highly unlikely that lily beetles have made it to Scotland? Good! One less thing to worry about ;)
