    Hello all.

I'm in this week again - or at least, I shall try my best. Many thanks to FCC as always.

I'm seriously traumatised! Had the file handover meeting yesterday, and though I managed to bluff my way through, and (I hope) it didn't show that I was sitting there shaking, I'm now suffering the fallout; I laid awake all night, reliving the whole thing, and as is usual for me, trying to identify where I said something stupid, or otherwise made myself look idiotic; and today, it's all I can do not to just sit on the sofa and howl. (I did have a bit of a meltdown when we got back home yesterday).:(

Didn't start too well - the new people (they both came) are the sort that kiss you on meeting; and I just don't do physical contact. And you can't very easily duck when you're in a wheelchair! So that made me extremely uncomfortable, straight away.:embarasse And of course, I'm certain I must've forgotten something important. No idea what, I just have the feeling.

Anyways - they have the files now; I've emailed templates for the standard letters and such like so they don't have to muck about downloading from the website, and they have my email address if there are any questions. (Hopefully there won't be).

So I'm tired, stressed and miserable today; also, Mr LW is only at work 3 days this week (he's on early shift at home Wednesday, and Friday's a Bank Holiday) so I think my best bet is to do what I can manage, and carry the lists forward from day to day, posting and then deleting what's cleared from my list.

Here's how we stand at the moment:
Monday - Sitting Room and Hallway
    Level One
Open the windows and turn on some music! Windows yes, but no music, ta. If I have to put any on, I may just sit down and cry my eyes out.
    Vacuum floors and sofas!
    Done by Mr LW
Declutter the chairs, floor and fireplace Done
    Level Two
Vacuum under any furniture you can.. please don't injure yourselves!
    Done by Mr LW
Sort out coats, shoes and bags.. can those winter coats be washed and put away/charity shopped/ebayed?
All sorted and tidy – they're kept that way!
Clean any electricals.. don't be frazzling yourselves though!
    Level Three
    Check those smoke alarms!
Wipe sofas, paintwork and dusty places
HHC in the hallway.. vacuum floors/stairs, wipe paintwork, fling those broken umbrellas and junk mail!
    Extras

    1. Catch up on some calls/emails There's a lot of these, as I only dealt with the really urgent ones over the weekend, so I have about 3 days' worth to plough through
    2. Binbag dance... grab a bag fill it and fling it!
    3. Clean fires/behind radiators
    4. Wipe the windows in these areas
I liked the "eat a frog" thing near the end of last week's thread; only trouble is, as soon as I eat one frog, another two hop onto the plate!:o

    Oh, and before I forget....

Valli the loft ladder takes 2 men to install, and you have to convert your loft hatch to a hinged one that swings down. Mr LW did this without too much difficulty.

He says the ladder flexes a little when you go up, but it's perfectly safe. The only wee down side we've found is that because it goes right up into the hatch, you don't have as large an aperture to put stuff up and down; apparently, you can push the ladder backwards out of the way to move larger items - I'm not 100% sure how it works at this point.

We need to see about getting our cases down at some point soon (hopefully this week) so I'll report back when we've done this, as this will potentially be the most difficult thing we have to move.

But it does mean no more ladder gymnastics to haul himself up into the loft, which was the whole idea of the exercise.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Lamewolf big hugs, try not to let it get to you. I'm sure you did really well. :grouphug:

One garden has been weeded and mowed. Table and chairs in the kitchen have been scrubbed and back hall half cleared. PIL now away to there house up at the beach (they get the keys today) and we're to go up on wednesday and stay over night. :j

Hubby has just put Rhys down for a nap, so we're gonna go and take down the tent and sort the other bigger garden. It needs weeded and mowed. Then i'll go find the yard brush and get the paths cleared. :D I will have a tidy garden before the day is out.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

On the other paw Wolfie, how horrid. Hope you feel better soon.

Am at work and, at the moment, looking forward to getting home and getting on with house stuff and sorting out for the next vintage fair. Whether I'll feel that way when I've eaten tea and cleared up is another matter:D

  • Hi everyone,

I'm back to posting again this week. Last week was spent decorating the main bedroom - it's not quite finished but at least I cans tart to move things back in now and attempt to sort out the house a bit.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain Dragon and I'm glad the handover is over LW - I hope the after effects don't last too long.

Anyway today I've not done a lot yet so I better get a move on

    HHC anyone?

hmmmm not terrible :) seem to have done a lot today, not really stopped. Not sure what on? but heyho

    LW
Dont dwell on it hun, easier said than done I know. I never know what to do with huggy or kissy people when you dont know them. It's always so awkward. I'm happy to do hugs or "air kisses" with folk I'm really close with but strangers... what is the polite thing to do in this situation? I'm glad you'll have Mr LW home, I'm sure that'll make it easier and your traumatic event will be history soon :) Sending Husky wolfy-esq snuggles from Shadow AND Mystic (more calming than human ones ;) ) - just watch out for the fluff, we're all moulting :rotfl:

seafarers_wife Dont over do the packing hun :) there's bound to be cleaning behind the stuff that you move ;)

kazm If she wants the wall done and you've got the deeds to show her ;) she cant argue with that :)

ohh Dragon that sounds ouchy. Get well soon!

Looby_Lou you didnt fail hun, you had visitors, they're more important than cleaning :) Jump back on now, you can pick back up easily :)

Cat - have you spoken to sister? (wondering if she called) Hope you managed through the 12 O'clock thing ;)

I have fitflops too, and I love them!!! Helped with my dodgey knee too. Kinda like walking in sand sorta. I could walk miles in them :) Good investment :) Cant remember who you were recommending them to now? But they are totally worth it :)

and lastly - what is a lily beetle? and will it put me off planting lilies?
