Hey LA how your doing girl? Just been catching up with you and I must say you don't seem your usual upbeat self. Don't let it all get you down. You've done so well and you will get back in the swing of things. I can't believe that we're talking about Christmas already, where has the last 8 months gone. I've been quite good this year and picked a few pressies up as I've gone along, and of course I've been saving my piggy points so that i can get some vouchers.

You hang in there girl, you'll get there x

Hi - thanks everyone & G_R, lovely to see you again, I hope you are well & happy?

Well I have applied today via QuidCo for The Egg Card and was accepted. So £35 hopefully will track soon, I really hope I don't have to fight for it!

I have looked at my Excel spreadsheet and I figure if I BT somewhere between £600 - £750 (I will fine tune it tomorrow, not had a chance to have a really good look tonight) that would really help out.

I should easily be able to repay that back before the interest comes in and it will be good to have a reducing figure that is not 'bouyant' like the OD is but of course I have to be careful not to let the OD build up again!

I will be taking the advice and calling up the bank to get them to reduce it.

Once I have the Egg figure, I can then work like the old LookingAhead to reduce it down as quickly as possible and chip away bit by bit. I do find it so much more encouraging that way.

I mean if you make a £10 sale on EBAY and you reduce your CC by £10, it just kind of feels better than chucking £10 into the bottomless pit of an overdraft doesn't it?

I must spend some time fine tuning budgets and planning some things in to the diary so that I don't spend silly amount again.

I feel a bit better......though still slightly horrified at having applied for another bl00dy credit card again this year when I said I'd never have one again!!

At least I am doing it the DFW way though eh??

Hi LA..glad you have made your mind up...I think its easier to pay it off a CC than an o/d...a lot easier...and everything you throw at it is reducing it..so thats good...ccs are a good thing when used right..take my MS one I pay for all the fuel and insurances on this one and I get 1/2% cashback...it soon mounts up over a year...I pay that card in full every month!!!...so CCs can be good...lol...
And you did it through quidco so get cash back so thats good and can come off your o/d....lol...
  • Hi sweety glad you are feeling positive about the OD - I personally feel balance transferring it makes it much easier to pay off, because otherwise it is just a 'rolling debt' that never seems to go away. xx

This sounds more like you LA. Much more positive and upbeat. I'm glad it all appears to be falling into place for you. You WILL cancel the OD and you WILL cut up the credit card once you BT and you WILL pay it off before the interest gets added. good luck girl, you can do it x

    Thanks for your support everyone!

I am still waiting for the card to arrive - it didn't come today and the postman had delivered before I left the house...so maybe tomorrow eh?

Got paid yesterday and am overdrawn again already but at least the loan & mortgage payment have gone out first, they are the two big payments in the month for me and I would rather they go out sooner than later. Especially as it means I can amend my signature on the old loan repayment front :D

Thanks for letting me know how long your card took taxi....gives me a bit of a better feeling about it. Had to laugh at your shrinking loans comment! Soon you will have 4...then 3...then 2...etc etc.

We'll keep on rolling on eh? ;)

OK I am off for a glass of wine & a vanilla Danish and a night on the sofa with fiancé & DVD as it is our 5th anniversary on being together today - altogether now....awwwwww. ;)

Catch you tomorrow - have a great weekend.

    LA xx
