I would definitely snip the card up as soon as the balance transfer was done, for sure.
I am *so* done with credit cards, the thought of having one and running up bills again makes me feel quite ill.
It's EGG though and I have heard such bad things about them.....like you can only deal with things on the internet and you an never speak to a human if you need to! Puts me off a bit. Mind you, in this day & age, humans aren't reliable are they......hmmmmmmm.......*ponders*Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Evening LA....if you will feel better for using the credit card to clear the O/D and are sure you won't run it up again....then that would be great...if you are going to run the card up...not so great...you need to just look at your options and pick which is best for you...you do get to speak to humans at egg...including when I put a wrong security number in to pay my egg card...I find them ok.....most companies are ok...as far as I know as I've never had problems ...the people that seem to have problems are usually the ones who aren't paying them back!!!
Good luck whatever you decide to do0 -
Thanks taxi! Glad you've had no problems with Egg.
I am mulling this over, over the Bank Holiday weekend......also I am going to see how the bank account looks after pay day (this coming Thursday)......possibly even see if I can wait till after September pay day.
It's because the thought of having another credit card actually makes me feel slightly sick (really!) so I do need to weigh this up carefully.
I would definitely destroy it upon balance transfer so no chance of running it up.
I need to get a grip and be totally logical about it - it it works out better financially then I should apply.
Went out last night with a budget of £23 (was going to be £20 but I had £3 in my purse left over from the week so I bunged that in too!) and came back with £1.60. So hurrah for that - that will cover the one bus fare I will have to pay for next week as I have the car every other day.
So - apart from any food that I might have to buy in.....I can't spend *any* money now until pay day. Should be do-able though, not planning on going anywhere over the holiday - just enjoying the break away from work is good enough!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi LA ...hope you're having a good weekend..chilling out..I got rid of my O?D with egg card as my interest was 15.9 on the O?D!!!...so switched it to egg...you will make the decisicion that's right for you.0

If you feel sick at having the egg card, that may be a good thing, because it will motivate you to get rid asap. If you felt a buzz, now that might be a bit dangerous!

My o/d rate is 10.8%. Could be worse but, makes sense to have 0% if it's going to take ages to clear...however will it be more overall than the transfer fee....that's what I have to work out and how long I really think it will take to clear the o/d without a credit card.....lots to figure out/schedule and I just can't face it at the moment. Desperately need that holiday....
No joy on the job front yet - paper is devoid of suitable vacancies for me I am afraid
I am off to see an agency next week though and will also be stepping up a gear, again on return from holiday, when my batteries are recharged.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Something will turn up for you, jobwise, perhaps it is just saving itself until you come back from holiday? You certainly deserve that break!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
