I think you should try harder, my girl :rotfl: :rotfl:

If that is just a smaller list, I would be dead impressed with the full caboodle!

  • Hi LA, just popping in to say hi and see how you are.

I had a thought re. your overdraft - please forgive me if what I'm going to suggest isn't suitable for you/you've already tried, I haven't read through your diary completely yet so if I'm not helping apologies in advance! I had an overdraft similar to yours, and was getting so fed up when money went in every month that it was effectively *swallowed* by the overdraft. I have now set up a new bank account which my money goes into, and every month I transfer a certain amount, whatever I can afford within that month's budget, over to the overdraft account. Whatever I had transferred over, e.g. £50, I then call the bank and ask them to reduce my overdraft limit by that amount. It means it cant possible get back up to its max limit (mine was £1500), and its limit is now £1450. I have been doing this for 2 months now, and have managed to pay off over £400, each time reducing my limit further so it simply cannot get so high again.

Howdy! I am fine thanks. Another expense has cropped up via dead washing machine as of today but I think BF will be doing something about that as he got a bonus at work recently and...he works for an appliance manufacturer that conveniently do washing machines as well. So tomorrow he will be checking out the cost.

ATB=I did think about doing the same for my overdraft but the thing is, they can recall the whole amount of money back at any time especially if I take my salary deposit elsewhere & I am terrified that the bank will exercise that right.

There is no way I could repay it so, I'm trying to bring it down each month between now and August/September to a more manageable level - even say being overdrawn by £200 would be better psychologically (but of course I want to be in the black not the red at all).

But honey - thank you for thinking of me and taking the time to post the suggestion I really appreciate it.

Good luck in reducing yours too. :)

ATB = We're really similar aren't we in overdraft terms - mine will be back up to £1000+ within a week or so!

Good luck with your aim of July.

I was hoping mine will be all but gone by September pay day (originally I was pushing for June - no chance now!) so I will update this thread (and my siggy) as I go along. You may have to forgive any stroppy/low moments as I go along though. ;)
