Please there is no need for flattery....
Jack Bauer on a plate will suffice! :rotfl:
When is the DVD coming out for goodness sake!!!! Some of us have needs!!!
moozie I'll stick to flattery, jack is officially the only man in my life now and there is nooooooooooooooo way I can share him! Dunno about the dvd's I'm afraid, think the first half usually comes out just after it's on tv??? it's certainly the most confusing one I've seen, I'm beginning to think me n jack were the only ones not involved in a massive conspiracy!
LA I'm glad to hear there were no scary moments with the curlers/mascara, I MIGHT try it myself...knowing my luck I'll get it stuck and have to go to A&E to get it removed or summit :rotfl:0 -
Weekend update:
Had a lovely day yesterday and didn't spend a PENNY. I was very willing to contribute towards the day but BF & I were shouted down when we reached for our cash.
It was BF's Aunt & Cousin's joint birthday party so a private function room was hired at a restaurant overlooking the Thames and we had a three course meal, free wine and free transport to & from the venue. It was unbelievably generous of his family and we left the party with offers of free accommodation if we want to find our way to Brussels or their holiday home in south west France.
Blimey!
So, I have some cash left in my purse which is very useful as I start going back to work on the bus as of tomorrow, my lifts to & from the office have come to an end after 4 or 5 weeks whatever it was. It saved me quite a bit of cash in that time so I am grateful.
I had a real sense of wanting to do more to clear my overdraft, on Thursday/Friday. I was desperate to come home from work and work on ways to get some more money but I couldn't really leave work without taking an afternoon off and holiday is very precious as it is (where I work they are quite stingy with holiday - you just get the statutory 20 days and that's it whereas my boyfriend has 30 days to use this year from his employers!!).
Anyway I listed some exercise DVDs on EBAY on Friday (Amazon aren't accepting them for listing....) and I really hope they sell. they were given to me by a very kind friend last year but they are too intense for me and strain my back so, I need to sell them on. I offered her them back to sell them herself but she said no, I could keep them & sell them for myself which is very kind.
She does know my debt situation so, I appreciate her kindness...she knows every penny will go towards getting the OD down.
I need to have a dig around the house to see what else I can try and EBAY too.
Corr I really want a day off all for myself to get things done! My last day off was ruined by being full of cold and having to cleanse the house of the remnants of "Boyfriend-In-Home-Alone-For-Whole-Weekend" incident.
I may have to chat the boss up tomorrow for a day off really soon...it'd save bus fare as well!!
Now that is desperation.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

WOW at your bf's family, they sound like wonderful people, and a cheap holiday sounds like just what you deserve and need!
Your friend sounds very nice and considerate too!
Glad you've had a good weekend, as for ebay/od just keep puting even one thing on each night, it won't take much time but you'll soon notice your paypal account increasing!0 -
What a lovely update! Your Bf's family sound really wonderful and considerate and very generous! I do hope you take them up in their offer of staying in their holiday home and I am sure you can pick relatively cheat transport to Brussels or France! That would be something really nice to look forward to
Way to go on the curlers! :j Mine are collecting dust somewhere and no way am I brave enough to try again. I was in an accident when I was little and lost all my eyebrow and eye lashes and even the thought of them being pulled off is too much to bear  So, I'll stick with mascara, I am a wimp I know.
You are making me want to do more LA!!! I didn't have a successful ebay session recently. Listed lots and nothing sold so ended up with fees and nothing elseMaybe I should give it another go, you are inspiring me!
Lyns, there is plenty of Jack to go around you selfish gym addict! :rotfl:Leason learnt :beer:0 -
Go for it Moozie on the EBAY front. We all have bad times on EBAY where nothing sells. But today could be a good day as if you put them on for a week, they'll end next Sunday (try for the evening end auction time) which is the busiest day so I hear.
I can't say I blame you for not trying again with the eyelash thing, I am a bit squidgy when it comes to anything near the eye so I completely understand! Poor you with that accident!
Holiday abroad: Yep would be great! I want to take them up on the Brussels thing for sure as I really fancy a city break....wandering around when everyone else is at work, strolling in & out of cafes and bars sampling the delights of Belgian beer.....oh yes!
We may well look into this after the Summer when it is a bit quieter and the overdraft has gone.
Ooooh I didn't say (did I?) that we have booked a week away in September to North Devon? We found a fantastic apartment built on the side of a lodge house (posh place) and it overlooks a UNESCO beach!
A VERY reasonable rate as well. BF has booked it & paid the deposit and we have till July to save up for the balance (very do-able) so we do have a week away to look forward to and we will take our own food with us for evening meals watching the sun go down over the sea......can't wait!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I think in your rush to get to sainsburies you typed the wrong thing there so I edited it for you0 -
Well it's been a while since my last post.
Overdraft is still rather unwieldy at the moment, I'm trying to find things to EBAY and sell via Amazon not because I think they will make a huge amount of difference but because if I can just get some cash together for bus fares and little bits & bobs, it will be a small help.
I'm still sticking to the "I'm going to have some sort of life" attitude now I have paid the credit cards off but it always seems to come & bite me on the a55. If I spend any sum of money on myself, then lo & behold within a few hours or a day or so, something will blow up, become 'lost' or something else and then there's more money to find.
Well that's how it feels anyway, I think I've always been a bit prone to the paranoia when it comes to my recovering financial status!
However I have recently discovered the joys of freecycling and today I have delivered a printer, had a monitor & speakers collected and a pc will be collected tonight. I am hoping that when & if I need something in a hurry in the future I can turn to freecycle and be helped out there.
A bonus today though: BF took me to the cinema which is something we haven't done together for nearly a year! So that was a nice afternoon, watching a very silly but funny film (Hot Fuzz). I would dearly have loved to have seen that film with a bunch of police officers, that would have been great!
I think we'll be off to see Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" (on an Orange Wednesday offer of course) when it comes out too. I can't for the life of me think how you would stop a sun from shining but....I'm willing to go along and find out but I might be setting my self up for disappointment here eh? Sitting there thinking "What? OOOOWERRRR as if!!?" and the like.
Anyway, must plod on...."plod"....no that wasn't a tenuous Hot Fuzz link there...Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Glad you've been having a good day, mum went to see hot fuzz and thought it was great too. I miss having my cinema card, last film I saw was the wicker man last august!
Dunno about you but I'm not so worried about my od these days, once I get rid of the last cc then I'll think on that...erm that doesn't help you does it  but like you say you can't miss out on having a life due to getting out of debt cause you'll only watch the fun pass you by.0 -
The overdraft....well, it's a worry I can't deny it but, clearing the CC's took some pressure off and the bank aren't harassing me. I never go over my authorised limit and the interest rate isn't horrendous (10.3% APR) so I am incurring around £6 - £7 in interest every month which is not too bad but of course I want to pay nothing and actually earn some interest for a change!!
There's just nothing more I can do right now to pay it off any quicker, unless I get another job for the weekends/evenings which is an option but, it'd probably put the kibosh on my relationship with BF and I'd be so knackered.
I know heaps of other people do 2 jobs so, no excuse really about being tired but, I don't want to jeopardise things with BF.
I'm going to keep my eyes open I think for something to do that's occasional not set weekend or evening hours....
