I have an account with ICICI and the service has been fine. I have just read a listing on here from someone who is having problems with Icesave.

I will liink to it below if I can find it again

I have had problems with Hisave account, trying to transfer money from my linked account. they just don't transfer it.

Have sent emails, messages via their site even phoned. Still no transfer.

    Poor service.

  • From the posts I've read ICICI seem to be inconsistent with their service.
On 16 Nov. I completed an online application for a joint account with my husband. The same day I received an email from ICICI thanking me for my application and advising I would soon receive info re the next steps.
On 21 Nov. I received an email advising me to send a cheque for £1 to start the account. I sent this on 22 Nov.
We then each received a barrage of about 30 emails reminding us to send the cheque.
I have just received a letter plus my original cheque (2 weeks later) telling me they cannot accept the cheque because the account number and sort code do not match the ones I gave in the application. I have double checked everything, so has my husband, it all matches.
I have now told them by email that as they are unable to process the info I wish to terminate my application.
Perhaps I'm being impatient but I just don't feel confident in carrying on with the application and then transferring more money.
  • Opened a High Save account with ICICI in October - everything seemed OK but last month I had a lot of difficulties logging on, and also kept being logged off after a minutes. I was told on the phone to send an e-mail to head office for them to investigate. 2 weeks later I had an e-mail requesting me to phone to pursue the problem!
Recently I decided to up my DD deposit - which did happen but 2 days later they took £600 out of my linked bank account without my permission. When I phoned customer service they lied and said that I had e-mailed with an instruction. A second call to customer services resulted in an admission of guilt and I had to persevere to get them to promise to return the money within 48 hours. I shall post the result after the 48 hours! Should I not receive some compensation for this?
I also found that I could not transfer money without e-mailing the account manager - this takes up to 2 weeks for a reply. On the 6th Jan I requested closure and tranfer of money in the account. They have still not replied even though the small print says it takes 24 hours.
The service is rubbish and the bank incompetent. Not a patch on ING who have a just introduced a new higher interest account if you leave your money in for longer, giving a rate to compete with ICICI. No prizes for guessing which savings account I will be using in future. ING has been great - no problems at all and excellent online service.

Oh, a new higher rate if you tie it up longer? Would that be the same ING whose website says:
One consistently high rate for everyone
and the same one that says its customers want a constant [aka POOR] rate rather than market leading ones??

I've been with ICICI for nearly 18 months since they opened and have never had a problem with them, that isn't to say others haven't. I'd take more notice if you were suggesting ICESAVE but ING have betrayed their customers IMHO.

1st post - you wouldn't be spamming for them would you?

I must be confused. I thought ING did this months ago and it was ICICI who have 'just introduced' one of these accounts paying 5.65%.
  • I have never had a problem with them at all -been with them a year now .

Have had more problems with the Woolwich .

Have been with ICICI for 11 months and have experienced no problems fron setting up account to transfers of monies both in and out and i'm barely computer literate! They are also offering a new HiSAVE Term Deposit account for existing costomers offering 5.65% (AER/Gross) for a fixed tenure of 6 months.
