Ing told me, when I rang to enquire if they were considering increasing their rates, that they had just introduced this month a new web saver account for those who already have a savings account. it pays 5.25%. So I opened an account last week. No I am not spamming for ING.
I am getting nowhere with ICICI. They owe my £ 600 and still have done nothing about returning it. The 48 hours has expired and I have just spent 50 mins onthe phone to them trying to get the money back - and all they can say is write to the account manager, who don't reply for about 10 days. In the meantime my bank account is about to go overdrawn without this money. Can anyone suggest what I can do ?

If any bank removes money from another account without your permission what can you do about it?

Interesting. So much for 'one rate for everyone', eh. I have an ING account and had heard nothing about it. Still, with a rate of just 5.25% I don't feel particularly bitter.

In all seriousness, it is a shame you've had so much hassle with ICICI, but there are other savings accounts out there paying a lot more than ING.
