Ok- a little update as things are getting close.....
I have a date for my operation, it is 21st April (next week Saturday).
It will be laparoscopy, complete removal of left kidney and left adrenal gland, at Guy's Hospital in London.
According my my consultant - around 5 days in the hospital and then 5-6 weeks off work. That makes it 7 weeks off... I only have 1 month full pay and 2 months half pay so will have to be back at work (somehow) before 1 month is up.. strauggling as it is on current salary (love the job though) and no way I can afford to fall into the half pay.
Although I will be at home, I was told no way I should take Zara out by myslef for several weeks so the dog walker stays in place as usual.
Daughter and her b/f will move in here (with their 2 cats) while I am in the hospital, look after cats and take Zraa out morning/evening. They will also stay for a bit when I come back home. But they both work so can not cancel the dog walker even temporarily.
Money is a massive issue/worry - the thought that something can go wrong with the op simply does not enter my mind. I has to go well, I have to be up and running within a month I simply have no other choice.
I know many people on here will keep their fingers crossed for me coming back to my zoo in a reasobale state after the op and really appreciate that.
Scared? Nop, in denial rather than scared - it just has to go well....
Thanks for reading.0
