  • On the daily mirror website, finally a DM has spoken up , good for you!!
  • text message received from manager, saying if we need help to reach our sales targets, they will help generate them for us,what a joke were was the managers when we needed help getting the arrears calls done???? which they have not done now for months we wouldnt all be losing so much money now if the managers got off their backsides and did the arrears calls, and helped us with this issue, they are ment to be dms ( development managers ) huh dont think so only thing they have developed is unrest and unhappy agents losing commission each week....:j
just remember they want to help you hit your sales targets as this makes them bonus. Remember thats what has got us in this position in the first place. The dm's do telesales and overload your customers(its human nature to take a deal when its offered as xmas has to be paid for) they then dont think about the consequences and reduce payments. Its am/dm's who should be deducted monies as they were behind the push as they were on big bonuses:-remember that £1500 love to shop vouchers you were given(tax free). Just take a step back from your sales this week and watch your dm be in a bad mood when you go in on tues. Its the only way to hit this company where it hurts. Anyway am off to caravan for weekend away from all the stress of this, next weeks another dredge.

i was told if i organised a walk out managers would be draffted in from all areas to cover the rounds and the big books would be split but if we all did it on a set weekend they would lose big time cause i know for a fact that if our office didnt collect for one week we would lose 100.000 and thats just from our office
my £130 that i lost this week seems nothing to that
  • Great isn't it! 2 of my customers couldn't/wouldn't pay this week because they were going to celebrate the royal wedding at the pub! That's just cost me £15 in fines! Mr Crook, I hope your happy!

i quote a text from a customer this week (im sorry cant pay you this wk iv gambled all my money i feel terrible now im drinking now sorry )

    REMEMBER THIS
we are the ones doing the job whilst the big bosses are getting 69% payrise
if it wasnt for us YOU WOULDNT HAVE A JOB!!!! CAUSE WE ARE DOING THE WORK WHILST YOU SIT ON YOUR FAT !!!!!! SPENDING OUR FINES !!!!!!!!!!!!
woo hoo agree totally, and ive just wrote more or less the same on the daily mirror site, so if there looking, the same thing will be said everywhere, and yes fair play to the DM who has actually got a pair of balls and spoke his mind, everyone else get on there, the link is on page 4 of this forum,
  • workinforacrook .......its oh so true though isnt it,exactly how many agents would be prepared to sign a petition to say exactly how unhappy they are over this, theres 11,000 agents out there countrywide,so mr peter crook could have some of their opinions,on how they are feeling of being robbed of their hard earnt wages....maybe mr crook should get out there and see exactly how hard it is for us each week with the people who dodge paying, and the excuses they come out with as to why they cant pay......:j

yes yes i hear you, we could all write a book of excuses, pathetic ones at that, but we cant hold a gun to there heads and make them pay, this is what it sooooo annoying, because we CAN NOT make them pay, so either provident has to change the law!(thats been around longer than them) or understand what we are saying, after all this is a risk business, or has that been forgotten in all their greed!
  • What I would like to know is How can a company set a self employed person a 'SALES TARGET'? surely being self employed means you work for yourselves when YOU want to work or work (not provident) dictates? Also stated in another post that it may be illegal to be self employed for more than 13 weeks while only doing work for one company. Surely Inland revenue should be able to look into this for you. Is there anyone from HMRC who could maybe give advice or possibly even investigate providents work practices. I'm sure you may get some joy on this subject if you dig a little deeper. Also was the chief exec of this company not in charge of barclaycard for a while and am almost sure he almost tipped them over the edge, something else that could be looked into. If some of you are serious about attending the shareholders agm next week then this maybe able to be raised with them once you confirm the answers first of course. hope this may help a little.

yes he was, he nearly killed barclaycard, and now he is doing the same to us, provident has run fine for years, and some nob head has come along with BIG BIG ideas, with a tiny brain, and has completely ruined the whole atmosphere, we all agree something has to be done with arrears but you can't penalize agents who are only doing what they have been told, not sure about anyone else but i was always taught if they cant make a payment get what ever you can as long as its not a miss! but make sure you tell them there not been let off just make it up the week after,(not unfair is it?) so we do what we are told then get our !!!!!! kicked at a later date( that's unfair), you can be self employed for as long as you have work no matter who its with, as long as your tax and national insurance is paid but thanx for the advice, every little helps x
