provident agents [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

I have read these posts with interest and obviously there is a lot of ill feeling and aggression aimed toward the Provident because of this latest implimentation in dealing with customer arrears.
I did not realise as self employed credit agents (can't work out how you are self employed after working for one employer only for longer than 13 weeks?) that you are liable for the customers debts. Do you (the agent) personaly provide the credit or does the Provident? Surely you are just providing an administritive service on the Providents behalf?
There are over 11,000 of you agents, are you not represented in some way to air your concerns? If not it's about time you all got your heads together.
I am aware that the majority of you agents are fair good honest people just trying to earn a wage like the rest of us ..so good luck!0 -
YOUR_A_JOKE_PROVI wrote: »Agreeing with what you say, the problem is that in reality how do we arrange this? Agents tend to work as a solo unit and so we are isolated from other agents, even when i collect my bag there may be only a couple of other agents knocking about, I personally have the mobile numbers of 2 other agents (one of them like me has already handed in their notice) - its such a shame we didnt see this coming we could have formed some kind of comittee so at least we were all standing united instead of individually!!!! Afraid its too late for me to do anything now but am still following the situation with interest and passion- GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU
yes.. and i think thats the main bosses idea,, divide and conquor ,, we are never really mixing, with each other , so its easy for the big boys to hold us all to ransom,, im totally disgusted with the people i work for .... my poor customers ,, 99 % who are hard working , decent people , and now i have to tell em they gotta give me more , week in week out,,,,,, its a travesty .. ,, and im ASHAMED , to say i work for them, SHAME ON YOU ... PROVIDENT RIP OFF MERCHANTS ........................ IF I COULD WALK AWAY TODAY I WOULD , I AM SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE ,,,,, peter crook .. head of provi , is a getting 1.3 million wage packet this year ,, we .. agents who do the work and getting penalised ,, DISGRAFUL ............. END OF0 -
Having worked for over a year as an Agent I too am deeply aggrieved at this situation. I have been on to ACAS..... basically as self employed Agents its up to us all to complain in writing to our DM.
I will be doing this and urge you all to do so..... but also bare in mind the following:
1. Where exactly are your reductions going?..... they are not paying off debts...... interest is added at the start of loan issues to cover this.
2. Contract.... Mine although only a print out (not formally issued) does not allow for these reductions.
3. Other Managers on my Agency rang my customers offering them loans earlier this year...... for which i am now paying charges... anyone else had this?
4. If (as previous coments) your Manager done their job.... this situation would not be so bad.
5. As an Agent I am not paid to be a Balliff.....if thats what they want.... employ me as such..... not what I signed up for!
I would like to start an Action group about this and will be doing so in my area. Agents need to stick together on this so contact me if you would like my support.0 -

i have been agent for 10 years got £80 taken from my wages today reading all these coments agents are going to leave provi and go to other companys then provi cash loss will go through the roof what i dont understand how can we get charged for bad debt if the loan is still within term (provi you need to wake up before you losse a lot of good agents ) dms you need fight for your agents there are two main people in provi and thats the agents and the customers so dms fight for them who make your wages0
