Provident may have had part of the title to this thread removed (well done stormchild for initiating it. You should be proud) but regardless it is still there when you use the search engines and will be what many people remember them for. There 15minutes of high fiveing, back slaps could turn into a lives time of malefic, detrimental achievement. PROVIDENT AGENTS RIPPED OFF, if anyone wants to google it as a reminderJ Thanks for the recognition Agent Exodus. I never once thought when I asked for advice would it be so warmly received by all of you. I hope its helped some but sadly not me as I too resigned weeks ago. I think the company deserve all they get regarding agent walkouts and hope there are more to follow. You are right in saying we are all valuable to someone just a pity it wasn't provident. There are decent jobs out there if you go look, its the ones who cant be bothered to look that say there's nothing out there. I wish you well and hope you are as happy as I am in my new job. There is life beyond provident!!!0

Hi provi agents, I've been a customer for a year and I have a question, but first let me tell you that I always pay ontime, I'm not in arrears, if my agents late or doesnt turn up, i have on occasions driven the 30 mile round trip to pay at the office. Basically I worry if the agents late, because I dont want to wreck my credit file, its starting to look good again. I have loads of zeros from provi on my credit file which is the best monthly score you can get.
My question, a couple of weeks ago, I damaged my debit card, so I could not withdraw cash from the atm, (my nearest bank branch is 75 miles away so couldnt go there. I phoned my agent who was due to call the following day, I was told no problem, just call when my new card arrives. 9 days later my card arrived. I called my agent who came out for my payment. And then 4 days later she called again as normal, and I paid this and next weeks. So I'm upto date again :-) plus a week in advance. Regarding my question will provi mark my credit file at experian with a late payment marker. For being a little late, due to waiting for my debit card. I so hope not. I know I'm a good payer, think she said it would come up on provis system as stage 2, but would correct itself when she banks the cash, my only worry is my credit file at experian. I was told not to worry, and I've been told on numerous occasions that she wishes all customers were like me. I do worry though, I dont want any black marks on my credit file.

For what its worth ,the company want agents to chase cashloss thats whats it is all about but to what expense to gain a fiver but you might have to use that in fuel chasing it down ,when an agent is losing money the company come out with ,but your getting 10 times the rate on roll ,yes but that was brought in to get more sales ,the company say things are better nothing to do with all the write off that took place everything looks cleaner ,also this system encourages bad sales if your gonna lose £10 one week you could just roll it reverse the fine earn money and the 10 times roll ,so when it goes bad and cost you £15 it dont you would have earned more with bringing it to stage 0 and roll the system is flawed ,also once an agent has taken the hit why bother going there again creating more write off ,as for you dont like it leave people have bills and have the write to complain if the stock market knew about the bad lending shares would tumble also this system is devised to get rid of any small agencys .and what about deputys who will never collect as good as a agent so when they collect you might end up with hefty fines better off not getting a deputy no fine .enjoy0

What you have to remember its coming up to the half year and provident want to show they are making a provet just stop doing loans and new buisnes that will !!!! them off0

keep remembering to check your clip.... if you've taken a £10 hit and customer has gone to stage 9 keep them there especially if they dont pay regularly. no point win/loss/win/loss all the time you might as well just get the 6-7% comm. 9 week miss dont bother let them get written off.......think carefully on new doors .....0

They can't fill DM vacancies, they can't keep Agents.
Wake up for goodness sake Provident.
Whoever thought this commission scheme up needs booting.
Agents are demoralised, threatened, bullied, scared and get no support.
It's Sales or else.
After 30 years I'm glad to be out of the door, your loss.. not mine, agency is vacant.. customers still phoning me saying no one has called..
You won't listen.
Have have you ever ?0 -

The new commission scheme was brought in because agents have had it easy for years and were in the comfort zone,
that comfortable i was put on tablets a few years ago for the pressure i got from my office0 -
I am a Dm and despite some suggestions we are all school drop outs, sadly i do not fit that stereotype. I used to enjoy my job, working with agents and seeing customers alike made no two days the same, those days are now very much gone. When Mr Crook took control of the company he brought with him some good ideas, but no great ones. All he seems to have done for the good is get P.C.'s into offices that caught us up with the 80's!! He claimed under his leadership Provident would make 200 million in profit by 2010, that was put back to 2011. Now with his close friend in charge of the company it seems they have found the only way they will hit this target, stripping agents of commission. I have read many of the posts on here and have to agree with the majority. Yes the company has bad debt issues, which finance company has not at the moment? And from experience with my agents, no matter how many times i discuss cash loss and target payments, it was always the last thing on their minds, but not now. But commission adjustments are not the way forward!!! Agents are leaving, Dm's are leaving, i have never seen so many dm jobs up for grabs! When there are too few people to sell and collect the profits will fall, that is certain. This company has denied the recessions effects for far too long, pushing for unrealistic sales at the expense of quality sensible lending. I strive for quality and good lending practices on my section, and on the whole have had no problem with cash loss as we work as a team to control this, but when 4 of my agents have minus commission (and i mean they have no commission at all) at the end of the week when i know how hard they have worked, i can't look them in the eye. Yes there are plenty of ways agents can earn very good money, but as anyone who has been an agent (me included) it's near impossible to control everything all of the time, the nature of the business means deductions will now happen no matter what, mostly to good hard working agents! Cash loss has improved under this scheme we are told, but that will change when the agents are gone. The company has made profits for 100 years, don't let it be burnt for your own vanity, walk now whoever implemented this scheme and don't take a pay off, you have taken enough already. You can fool yourselves all day long, but you can't fool us........0
