Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I received a letter today from Very.co.uk care of Shop Direct Finance. The letter is asking me to telephone an investigations manager. I am so worried as I do not have a clue what it is about. I bought one item from the Very website about three years ago and paid for it with my debit card. I will be ringing them first thing on Monday but just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience?
I know it's a long time ago.. did you firstly register to the website, and if so can you remember the email address you used. It's a long shot but may give you a bit of insite.
I would ring them but do not acknowledge any debt. Alternately you can send them a letter asking what info they have on you and enlcose a £1 payment ( someone will be able to explain what this actually is in bettter detail).
Hope you get it sorted!0 -
This should help, I got it off another part of the forum!
Dear Sir/Madam
Re:− Account/Reference Number 4563210025897412
I do not acknowledge any debt to your company.
With reference to the above, we would be grateful if you would send us a copy of this credit agreement, statement of account and notice of assignment.
We understand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79), we are entitled to receive a copy of our credit agreement on request. We enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.
We understand a copy of our credit agreement should be supplied within 12 working days.
We understand that under the Consumer Credit Act creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully0 -
Hello
Thank you for your reply, and for the letter template. I do remember registering on the website. I have put my email address in and requested my password but it says that no account is registered with that email address.

As I said it was a long shot, I think your best bet is the letter or the phonecall.. did the letter not state an amount or any dates.
I've had problems with them before and they usually do.0 -
The letter just says.........
Dear Miss.....
With reference to your very account.
Could you please contact me on 0844 822 4650 during the office hours of Monday-Friday, 08:00am-6.00pm
Thanking you in anticipation of your help in this matter
Yours Sincerely
Claire Sullivan
Investigations Manager
I remember buying one item from Very.co.uk one Christmas (it was just a bottle of perfume for a Christmas gift). I paid for it in full. It did cause problems as I used a voucher code from MSE code board and they did not honour it. I just paid for the item in full and never shopped with them again.

They changed for Littlewoods Direct, did you buy anything from then when they were under this name?0

My father has also received a letter from MKDP accepting that the debt they wrote to him does not exist; they apologise for all inconvenience they have caused with their communications AND they've confirmed no entry has been made to his credit file. Thanks for the pointer to the prove it letter - it worked.0

Managed to speak to Very.co.uk and verified my account details. Someone has been ordering items in my name but getting items delivered to an address I have never heard of in London. I have been told I have to telephone back in office hours. AWFUL. It has opened a whole new can of worms in regards to identity fraud.

good job you called and didnt ignore or send letters, sometimes its best to call as it can stop it fast.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I have also received a letter from Very.co.uk. The letter has been sent by Shop Direct Finance Co. Ltd
I'll call them and find out what this is all about.
