MKRR & MKDP - Shop Direct Finance Company Limited????

I'm really worried because I've just received a letter saying I owe £556.10 since 4th october 2010 and it has now been transferred to MKRR to deal with. i rang them up and they said it was a 'branch' of littlewoods i owe to. Is this real or what? anybody got a phone number i can ring to sort?

Ring national debtline, they are sooooo helpful, I can't remember how many times a day they can ring before you can get them for harassment, but national debtline will tell you, they told me years ago when I was having simular grief, just can't remember. Good luck and hope you sort it all out

Thanks for the advice. I've rung the shop direct finance company limited 0844 292 1000 (if anyone needs it) and the woman is now checking the account and will ring me back.

HOWEVER, i DID ring another finance company i HAVE had business with years ago, and they ran the 'account' number through their computer and told me it definitely was NOT my account as it was a different address and name. They couldnt give me any details other than this. This company was Fredericks international (0845 034 9712) and the bloke there was very good checking this number for me. Obviously, he couldnt tell me the actual name and addy of the person whose account it really was but he did say it was a totally DIFFERENT type of account (not a shopping account)

I shall tell you what happens when the woman from shop direct rings back.

I rang the MKRR number and they informed me it was a debt linked to Littlewoods.

according to the woman, i have owed this money since i lived at a previous address 1993. I think this is going to be difficult to sort because I have no proof of anything from that time/address. i havent lived their since 2002.I will send the letter as you all suggested

It's going to be difficult for THEM to prove this is valid and enforceable

Remember, it's not up to you to prove you don't owe this - it's up to them to prove that it's your debt AND that you continually acknowledged it by payment or in writing without a six year gap since 1993!

mackenzie hall sent me a letter collecting on behalf of Capqest for a shop direct financial services.

This is for a Kay's debt that they said i had in 2007 but i had this catalogue in 1995.

So it looks like Capqest have told mackenzie hall the date was 2007 not 2005 and that's very naughty.

All the info they have is name of company and amount owing.

Trying to get me to pay a statue barred debt just like Lowell's did.

Same letter , different amount..and never had any accounts with any catalogues guessing they have brought a mailing list from someone and are trying it on, will send the prove it letter ...By the way on a similar subject had a council we used to live with trying the you owe us x from 2001...after a few letters back and forth they have now admitted it was there error .

OMG I got this exact same letter only diff was mine said i owed over £200.....I have 2 cats & I rang them both 2 check my account incase I did owe them money & theyve told me they dont no anything the number is nothing 2 do with them & that my account has bin cleared 4 over 12mths, they did tell me tho that the company MKDP LLP do exist & that I should ring the number 2 find out wot the debt is & who its owed 2......should I do this cause Ive also bin told 2 ignore it ???????????????????? :(

Considering both MH and Crapquest are notorious liars, anything is possible.

You may have had an account with Kays in the past but unless they can quote the original Kays reference number and it matches up, there's no proof that you had this account that they are dealing with.

As before, it's not up to you to prove you don't owe this - it's up to them to prove that it's your debt AND that you continually acknowledged it by payment or in writing without a six year gap.
