I have absolutely no idea what this is or who Shop Direct are. I don't have any catalogues and don't buy on credit.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it a scam?

Thanks Sarah

Presumably you don't owe anything to any of their brands/trading names then?

Never heard of MKRR or MKDP. They're not big spenders - probably paid about £4 for this account!

Think a "prove it" letter might be the best bet. It would not surprise me to find that they have the wrong person/account etc. It may well be nothing more than a fishing trip.
Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage :o

Letter is here if needed ---> http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=11570893&postcount=2

Sarah would probably be advised to check here credit reports as well, in case these people have recorded an incorrect default on them.

No nothing. I had a Littlewoods account years ago but that was clear when I left them.

    How many years?

Littlewoods have been known to apply charges etc after people think the account is closed, and they never hear about it pops up years later.

Not saying it is that, but it is a possibility with Littlewoods given their incompetent account management.

    Debt-free and Proud!
I had a letter from the same company today declining me finance at this time. So I rang them and the guy was most apologetic and said thousands of letters had gone out in error today. The only company I dealt with of their group was Woolworths online years ago. He told me to disregard the letter.
