I was just 18 and (then) boyfriend was 23, we had to wait to exchange contracts on my birthday, completed and moved in on christmas eve.

I bought a place on my own at 21 with help from mum for a large deposit. Wish I'd just waited to buy on my own!! hey ho the joy of hindsight.

I've always worked and saved, I never been able to understand how people who earned so much more than me had so little, but then I'm good at being frugal.

We were around 23 and bought badly. A money pit. Lost at least 10k when we sold.

However, bought second home in 1999 for 63k (just before we hit 30 years of age). It's now worth about 160k as we extended it.

I was 30 - only 2 years ago - and soon to be a reluctant landlady for said property! :)

Life happens when we're busy making other plans...

We reserved our house (new build) a few days before my 24th Birthday and completed a couple of days before my OH's 24th (our birthdays are a month apart exactly). That was almost 4 1/2 years ago and currently trying to sell.

I was 21 & fiance was 22 when we reserved our plot (new 3 bed semi yet to be built)
Our wedding was arranged for 12 months later.

House wasn't finished in time (small building company) and we had to live with my new husband's parents for about a month.

We finally moved in a week before Christmas. It was snowing heavily, but there was no-way I wasn't going to be in our home for Christmas.

It was a long time ago.

Still got the photos of the house at varying stages of build.
I've often thought of sending them to whoever is in that house now.
