OH and I will both be 33 when we complete in May 2011.
My parents bought when they were 24 (my Dad) and 26 (my mother), just before they married. It was a flat for £13,000 in Blackheath, SE London....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I had just turned 25 when I got the keys, but 24 when I put in my offer. Bought on my own, but now living with my fiancee. Would have probably been earlier if I had someone to share the cost of deposit/fees/furniture/renovation etc.
My parents bought their first house at 21/22, 11,500 for a semi. Which last owners sold for £180k - 30 years on.0 -
22... got the keys yesterday!! :j0

We were 20 when we bought our first house. It cost 97k in 2004. Now 7 years later we have just gone under offer on our third house. We are looking at spending up to 200k on a 3 bed semi with decent garden, but agents practically laugh at us, and thats in the north too! X x x0

I'm the oldest on this thread so far. I was 41 when I bought in January this year. I missed out in my twenties because my then husband was doing voluntary work and I was supporting him, and he was planning to go into a job that would give him a tied house until retirement. I bought after he died, using the life insurance.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
