I was 19, and house was a 2 bed terrace house in NW. £20K. This was 24 years ago. I sold it about three years later for £36K0

24 and 15 years later I'm still in the same house.
Soooo glad I never got tempted to use the equity as a slush fund like so many of my friends did. Now got a very small mortgage which I guess I could put more effort into reducing to zero, if only I hadn't got this penchant for foreign holidays.
Seriously, I feel very privileged to be in the position I am. Being the right age at the right time meant I could buy a place on my own without being a high flying career woman, combined with being sensible about all things financial (thanks dad), I've got an okay lifestyle that people the same age today just won't be able to get, unless house prices revert further downwards.0 -

İ was 22 and i paid 24,750 for a 2 bed flat(spacious)-on my own in 1985. i moved up the market at 40 and bought a 183k flat in 2003 --alone. (i have also bought another home abroad for 190k-since i got married at 44)-im now 48-my ltv is is minus numbers and i have never really paid a mortgage--lodgers have done it for me!
the first flat i sold for 120k in 2004 and i saw it on the market the other day for 80k!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

First bought by myself 2010 when I was 32 90% mortgage on a £165k 2 bed semi
