Just spoken to the tax credit people, straight through, no waiting about on the line....yes, I am due the extra payment as my claim has been auto renewed and this auto renewal has triggered the extra payment.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

How long does it take for a same day payment to actually hit your bank account?

It depends on their payment runs, but you'll tend to find it's in by 6pm at the latest on the same day.

Glad you got your payment :) mine usually goes in at midnight, but wasn't there until 9am today. I was a little worried last night! :)

My housing benefit usually gets paid into my account (Halifax) every Monday. What with Monday being a bank holiday, does anybody know when I can expect it? I thought it might have gone in early today, but it hasn't.

    Thanks
  • I'm sure there's a thank you in this thread somewhere, a great big thank you for DWP & HMRC staff who've slaved away to advance millions of benefits & tax credit payments, so everyone can enjoy the holidays.

I just can't seem to find it anywhere ...

If you were to expect to receive your HB on the Monday (BH) then unfortunately I think it will be paid in on the Tuesday.

When I claimed HB, I was told my HB payments would be paid in on Tuesday,if Monday was a bank holiday. My council never pay it in early.:(

You could give your local authority a ring just to be sure,as i'm not sure if all councils work in the same way.
I asked for fork 'andles(handles for forks) not four candles! God Bless The Two Ronnies :T

My HB is Monthly and goes in first Monday after the end of the Month. I called them today and they confirmed it will go in Tuesday 3rd, no big deal I pay my rent on the 4th of the Month.

Slaved away? If only. Their systems are automatically set for BH's. So I guess it's A BIG THANK YOU TO COMPUTERMABOBS AT HMRC AND DWP!

I thanked the lady who personally put through my payment today. System error???? had stopped my payments.

I am wondering who you really are Hanging Judge? Hope you are not here to spread doom and gloom and cause trouble :eek::eek:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
