My State Pension (due on Monday) has gone in today (Thursday). Nationwide.

Now confused, I recieved my tax credits this morning that are due on Monday but I had presumed that as my ESA is due on Good Friday that that would be recieved today also but it hasn't I know from past experience many moons ago that I once recieved a giro through the post on good friday but that i couldnt cash it as no post offices were open.Do the DWP pay into bank accounts on Good Friday ??

Tuesday isn't a bank holiday so your money will go in then as normal.

I'm with Halifax, child benefit that was due on Monday has gone in today.

I bank with the co-op .. and weekend direct debits go out Monday or Tuesday , if a benefit is due to go in on a Tuesday ( not a bank holiday day ) it will go in on a Tuesday . also if a benefit or wages are due to go in on a Monday ( not a bank holiday day - normal Monday ) then they will go in on a Monday . the only things that go out at the weekend are ( switches / maestro / visa debit payments ) that were made Wednesday or Thursday . but any payments made by visa debit / maestro / switch on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday won't show on the on-line bank or bank statement until a Tuesday ( but will automatically be deducted from your bank account ) so watch you don't get overdrawn .

I used to bank with the NatWest , anything due to go in on a Monday will go in on a Saturday , but if you look at your statement its not a withdrawal balance , the withdrawal-able balance will be different because its not a cleared balance , so beware . your cleared balance will be the Monday , but won't show until the Tuesday 8am when you log on to your internet bank or telephone banking or if you ring and ask for the balance . money due to go in on a Monday and shows on a Saturday is not a cleared payment , unless it goes in early due to a bank holiday then it will go in your bank on a Friday ( or Thursday due to good Friday and the wedding ) . Monday direct debits will also go out on a Saturday as well or even a Friday if there due to go out on a weekend . ( if ive got it correct ) .

My tax credits and carers allowance (due Monday) went in today...in fact, I had two tax credit payments, slightly different amounts - very confusing.

I usually only ever get the extra payment when my tax credit renewal form has been returned and I haven't even received it yet!

Methinks a phone call is in order....

Need to phone them as mine should have been in today (for tomorrow) but didnt and there was a glitch on their system.

Just so you know, payments can go in as late as midday, so I would double check your banks now. If it's still not there, ring up ASAP so that the bank can issue a same day payment if necessary.

How long does it take for a same day payment to actually hit your bank account?
