Well Done Gap :j!!!!
Knew you could do it!!!! Come on then how much have you knocked off in years?? xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thank you LAM and mummy
My original DFD was March 2013. I have knocked off 1 year and 3 months. I would like to say though that if I had discovered PAD earlier then it would have been sooner. I only started trying to be debt free sooner in April this year when I had £3.5k to go. If I had tried from the beginning in 2007 it would have been paid off before now.
However, this day was never in sight in 2007 in the crappy council house with no prospects and debts to my eyeballs. I keep telling everyone, hard work and determination are the keys.
I do feel very slightly like I cheatedI had £1k in my emergency fund and I used that towards getting rid of the debt. If I hadn't had that I would still be at it. Although I now have nothing and am starting from scratch.

I am mummy, thanks
Had a lovely afternoon in Glasgow with my girlies yesterday. I met them about 1.30pm and we went straight for lunch, paid for in cash!! We then wandered round the shops and I got one christmas present for someone, paid for in cash, some make up for me (:D), paid for in cash, some aftershave balm for Mr G, paid for in cash and a small gifty for Little Miss just because I was thinking of her, paid for in cash!!!! I then saw the aftershave balm for Mr G slightly cheaper in another shop so paid for it using the cc (only had cash left for dinner) and I will be taking the more expensive one back this week so that will cover the cc. Then went for dinner and paid for it in, yes, cash! :rotfl:
Got the bus back with the girlies and Mr G picked me up from the bus station so no bus fare home! (bus fare from Glas to Edin was already paid for in advance) And he was chuffed with the aftershave balm and chuffed that I thought of him!
Only low point of the day was that I had my hair done first thing in the morning when the sun was shining in Edin and by the time I got to Glas it was POURING with rain and I didn't think to take my brolly :doh: soaked.com! Still, pretty good for a low point!

Hi Gap, sounds like you had a lovely day. How long does it take to get to Glas from Edin?
Is it a nice feeling being able to buy things with cash and not feel guiltyJust keep swimming!0 -
Awww sounds like you had a lovely day Gap, glad you paid in cash for everything and also looked for bargains!! Keep it up xxMummytogirls x0

It takes approximately an hour give or take to get from Edin to Glas and the same back depending on traffic. I got the train through which is supposed to be quicker but it was quite slow so really wasn't that much faster (but much more expensive :eek: not very MSE but cash and it was treat day
)
The funny thing is, I still felt guilty for buying things even although I was paying in cash
Forgot to tell my best bargain of the day!! It was cold and raining and two of my girlies had hats on. I said I might buy myself a hat if I saw one I liked. I didn't actually think I would find one but in a shop we were all looking at hats and I saw one I liked and it fitted perfectly. It said £19 on the label and they had 10%-25% off across the store. When I got to the till it was £2.50 :jMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
