Thank you girls
Mummy, LM is getting better with knowing the value of money. I decided to give her a larger amount of pocket money so that she would have to learn to budget. She will get there
Itsa, it is a bit of a strange feeling for me, I can't really describe it. I suppose it must be like an older person who has been in prison most of their life getting out and then not knowing what to do with themself because "normal" life isn't really "normal" for them. On a much smaller scale of course :rotfl:
Fresian, thank you for the advice. I will definitely be sticking around for PAD!
I have joined the save £12k in 2012 challenge. I am going to aim for £8k though, not going to try running before I can walk  I will still be PADding and I expect my amounts to be bigger at the end of each monthI will be popping into everyone's diaries and keeping up with progress. I can't have a debt free diary myself so I will end this one but be assured, I won't be straying far from DFW! I like it here and I have friends

4 days to go.
£1.30 to PAD today.
I am 10 points away from a payout from GlobalTestMarket (approx. £30)
I am at £28.45 with OnePoll so £11.55 to go (might have it by next Christmas :rotfl:)
Got some Christmas shopping done yesterday. I will have to get everything out of the cupboard and start wrapping or I will end up at nearly midnight on Christmas eve rushing at the last minute again () Had enough of that last year.

Hi Gap :j Nice to see you, I thought you had shunned us on your diary with your oh so nearly new found debt freeness
I have been premature updating my signature again this month as I know what all the balance of the debts are and because of the Christmas spending I won't be paying any extra this month.
What does Little Miss want for Christmas this year. Little Itsa isn't really asking for anything big (phew). I love Christmas, when I am rich and have lots of money, I might enjoy it a bit more (although then, my brain will probably be so fine tuned to moneysaving I will be a penny pincher)
Just keep swimming!0 -
:rotfl: Shun you all?? Never!!!
You have all been my support network! I just don't seem to have anything exciting to say at the moment
Your signature is getting better all the time
Little Miss is not too fussed about big things at Christmas. She fancies an ipod 2 but she knows she won't get that. She got a BlackBerry for her birthday and that is what she wanted the most so she is not too bothered about anything else. I have picked up bits and pieces for her stocking but I suppose I should get her to choose something soon!Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Well I have finally done it, I AM DEBT FREE!!! :j
I have an account where I can withdraw money in December without losing interest which is why I held off until today. Was going to do it tomorrow but then wondered why. So, went to the bank at lunchtime and handed over the balance.
I don't actually feel anything.
Next step is saving so I will still be penny-pinching. I want to hit my target for next December.
I want to say a massive thank you to you all for being there and being supportive and encouraging.
I will wind up my diary in a week or so.

I just feel I can't have a debt free diary when I don't have debt (ooooh, still getting used to that!) I won't be going far though, I will be popping into all of your diaries and I am sticking with the PAD thread. The only problem is, I like writing in my diary. I know I don't do it every day but I like to update now and then.
My flat is shared equity with a HA and I would really like to buy out their share so for the next few years I will be putting money into savings towards that. I need about £40k  so may take some time (I have nothing left after paying off the loan so am starting from scratch). I would rather aim towards that than to get mortgage free at the mo. Long term goal though.
((((hugs)))) to you allxx
