Sorry to be pedantic but there will be no 'migration'.

Migration makes it seem inevitable whereas a lot of people will fail and not be moved over.

    Many will be!

Though I do agree with the term migration.

It has to be questioned: if people were placed on IB indefinitely without regular assessments, how can they have been assessed as unfit for work.

I've seen this quoted before and I have used it too but take a look at coronation street, emmerdale!

Yes they are soaps (fiction) but they do try and bring real life situations into theor storylines. At present we have 2 people in wheel chairs, one able to work, (coronation street) one unable but wants to (emmerdale) Emmerale also has a blind person working in a sweet factory???

I just hpe she doesnt test them through taste :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi

We've removed a couple of posts.

Please, if you feel someone's post breaks our rules simply report it and stop replying.

Remember, though, just because someone disagrees with you that doesn't mean you need to report it. By all means if their post is rude or abrupt then that's fine but simply disagreeing is not reportable (if it was, the Forum Team's workload would be much, much bigger!)

I have searched and searched but nothing comes up mentioning what order people will be called in apart from one that said people will be called in when they are due for renewal, that has been proved wrong too.

Other than someone sat there all day going through all the people's claims for IB to see who they think should be called next then it would appear it is a bit like the lottery! Seems very strange why they are keeping mum about the process in which people are being called in.

i would guess it is an attempt to cause as much anquish as possible--i was reading a mental health forum and there are a lot of very unstable people talking of very extreme acts if they fail the test! mental health is one of the groups that has been singled out as a prime target and these people are on a knife edge!--the not knowing the order is just exasperating the worry

    Hi everyone
Thank you so much for your responses - it would seem that I am not alone in apparently being 'called in' years before the review date which was chosen after all by the DWP!
The more I look into this, the more confusing the process appears.

Thanks for all the links, CountryGuy. Like you I have hunted round the DWP web site in vain trying to find the answer.

According to the letter I just received this week, someone from the DWP will be phoning me in the next 2 weeks to discuss the process. I will query then why they are calling me in now, which is contrary to the guidance issued in March 2011 per the link you posted which says that claimants will be re-assessed at their normal review date.

There is also a Parliamentary enquiry going on into the ESA process, I think today is the last day for submissions.
Although they cannot look into individual cases, it might be worth while flagging up this issue - ie what criteria are being used to select claimants to migrate from IB to ESA or JSA or whatever!
And why would the DWP do this sooner than the already determined review date?
Seems to me they are going to have enough to do with the the claimants who are due for review, without tackling the ones who they have only just reviewed recently!

If anyone has any answers, do keep us posted!
    Kind regards

  • Bit off topic this question ........if you are put into the WRAG group how long do you stay there for, is it 6 months, 1 year, 2 years etc....who decides? Or once you are put in the WRAG group do you only have a certain amount of time there i.e. 1 year, if so what happens then?

In a small effort to mitigate the lies being told by one member here - the system really is calling people on the date of their next renewal.

They have been doing system testing for a while now so that when they run scans they will be able to call people in the order due aside from those who dont need to be called at all.

The DWP and equivalent organisations elsewhere covered by the reassessment are doing as much as is reasonably possible to make it as easy as possible for people who are having to go through this.
