About £10 left, as on payday, my microsoft money predicts my leftover salary from all direct debits and bills, I then take out my usual savings and whatever is left I divide into how many Fridays there are until next pay day - this is my weekly allowance and I can carry forward any monies week on week. I am £77 'in credit' from this weeks fund and won't be shopping for a few days, so that will get carried forward, anything left at the end goes into my decorating fund for the house. If I scrimp I can have the outside electric sockets fitted just in time for the summer!!

hi i have never heard of MM which you say you use so i googled it and it said it no longer existed but Bundle is also available to use, do you or anyone else know of this and how well it works please

  • Haven't entirely gotten into a routine yet but I'd like to have less than £10 by choice. I don't have any debts at the moment but I want to throw as much of my income at my ISA as possible!

if its any help ani, clydesdale and yorkshire bank would allow you to have a savings account,

Thanks for that, vintagegirl. I had a feeling it was the yorks bank. Not that its any use to me right now, but i'll store it in the memory bank. :) ( how about that for a pun )

Savings for an emergency, is the ultimate target. Everyday, is an emergency, right now.

My payday is generally the 24th, though it will be the 21st this month due to the bank holidays. At the time of writing I have about £250 in the account, and I don't see that decreasing much next week - I have some cash in hand freelance work tomorrow which will be good for daily expenses, etc.

This month is exceptional however, generally I come squeaking under the wire with pence left in my current account and hoping above all that there will be no problem with my salary payment!
