How much money do you have left in your bank account, at the end of the month?

I aim to have £100 left in my account by the end of the month which then goes to clearing debts. This has not worked out too well just lately for various reasons (such as a £47 dentists bill
). Last month I went into the overdraft by £34.
As for savings, I put £50 away each month for Christmas, birthdays and a budget holiday. This is also my emergency fund so if something major went wrong in the house this money would be used and Christmas would have to be without presents.
I do have access to quite a lot of credit but dont intend to use it.0 -
I've got no debts, other than my barclaycards which i pay in full each month so no interest. Got around £10k in gold coins, another £40k in a swiss bullionvault, £40k in NS&I certs, £10k in stocks and shares ISA, and around £120k in savings a/cs. My current a/c balance is usually around £1k at the end of the month. I need to be more efficient as i don't get any interest on that balance, but i would hate to ever go in the red. Nothing annoys me more, so I err on the side of caution.
PS. I'm single and looking for a hot chick to help me out with my financial difficulties.
OMG what a coincidence, I am super hot and have a mind for figures & a lot of spare time on my hands - want some help balancing those books??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I became DF in Oct last year - I generally have around £300 ish in my bank at the end of the month. I have savings should I be faced with an emergency. Before Oct last year we lived in perpetual fear that something that required money would happen...DF as at 30/12/16

Well it's the 13th of the month and we're at -£1483 ... we have been living in overdraft for years but we've had our LBM and we're on it now. Our projected 'day before payday' balance for April is -£1785 which is better than March's which was -£2108.
We've managed to get into this mess as one of us had to stop working since January and only just got permission to start working again 3 weeks ago. Not entitled to benefits so can't rely on that. Luckily got a work trial tonight at a local restaurant and going for interview with HSBC later this month so work is on the horizon!
To be honest though, we just have been living beyond our means for ages. We have to cancel our gym membership at the earliest opportunity (15 May) which will save us £74 a month. Hoping to snowball that into the credit card.
Shouldn't be long before we're in the black but I don't know if we should overpay our credit card (currently at -£3073) with the overdraft as that's costing about £100 a month just now. I just want to fast forward a few months so that all the money-saving and sacrificing we're doing will actually mean something.
I long for the day when just before payday, I look in our account and actually see real money, not negative money. That would be a miracle and hopefully it's not too far off.:cheesy: Nationwide Overdraft: [STRIKE]Mar: -£2300[/STRIKE] Oct: 0!!!

Again, next to nothing but by design. I transfer the extra out, but if I need it I put it back in. At the moment, and for the next few years, our income and outgoings will be very close. We can live with that though, as it's only short term. Also, we can cut back quite a lot if we need to, we just don't need to at this time.Debt free as of July 2010 :j

LOL! You may be super hot but I guess your partner is not my type IYSWIM... unless of course you are a pair of lesbian goddesses and wishing to "turn"... :rotfl:
Good on you for becoming debt free. It is a millstone around everybodies necks and effective slavery to the banks and useless mean employers. I don't take any !!!!! from bully style employers or government agencies as I know I have something tangible to rely on as security.
Feels goodman! :beer:0 -
In a word: Zero.
The day before payday every last penny, gets transferred to the CC's. Though it is a very rare thing to have more than a tenner left in there by then!0 -
Normally about £100 or so, but since I have been doing Tesco DTD this month I won't have anything left!

Its your lucky day! I'm in financial difficulties too and single in Liverpool, we could help each other out
Its two weeks away from payday and I've got less than £100, but i do have a little sideline which tends to bring me in a few $ every now and again :T
EDIT: Correction, I actually have £150 left as I was a bit more frugal at the races than I thoughtLBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130 -
