I have read this thread for a while and have had 2 failed attempts at doing a DTD shop!
However, suceeded in getting 2 x £20ish vouchers back via the lamb and wolf blass!

Went into 1 Twsco today proud as punch to use them, used the 1st one, manager was called to verify it and i was told she had to verify every voucher that came in. she commented on it being such a big value and waited for my response, i just looked vacant! I decided not to go round the store again to get my 2nd vouchers worth of DTD there, as i thought she would come back to verify, then refuse me!

went to my 2nd Tesco to use remaining voucher, put DTD shop through, tried to use my voucher, was told i had to go to customer services, had to cart my shopping over there, they made several phone calls, before taking my voucher, explaining in a very deliberate manner that they had to go through these checks now as people were abusing the system and working out how to get £20 back! I think i went bright red and just muttered something like "jeez, how can they do that?!" she didnt look impressed with me, and that was with me using a receipt without an already used coupon on it!

I'm now petrified to go back and use my vouchers with the receipt saying i'd paid with a coupon and really am wondering if its worth the bother!

When you've been doing this a while you develop a skin like a rhino. Just remember you are doing nothing wrong. Tesco started this to prove that they are cheaper, LOL, and we are proving they aren't. You need to stand up for yourself, in the most polite but determined way, saying things like 'Tesco sent me the voucher because the things I bought would have been cheaper in Asda', or 'Tesco will tell me when I reach my £100 per month limit, by not sending me any more vouchers'.

There are lots of Tescoisms around at the mo, but if you print off a copy of the T&C's from the website and carry them with you, when they come out with the outrageous lies, sorry 'Tescoisms', :p you can whip out your copy of the T&C's and innocently say 'Oh, it doesn't say that on here'.

If you get marched to the CS desk, don't worry. Remember, you are doing nothing wrong.Your voucher will get checked with HO and off you go. If all else fails, and they refuse your voucher, it is soooo satisfying to just walk away, leaving your shopping on the belt or in your trolley.

Go and do your next shop, it's amazing how quickly your confidence grows. Don't allow a few 'trouts' to spoil your chance at some goodies for pennies.

they dont lose any sleep about over charging people so dont let them get to you..

this is THEIR offer as they claim to be the cheapest.. if there not it not your fault is it..

and if they was really concerned they would soon alter the prices..

but for every 1 person getting the moeny back on a dtd theres 100s or 1000s paying the full amount so its win win for them...

This is the truth. Tesco don't do things out of the goodness of their hearts - they make policy based on cold hard facts. And the cold hard facts are that they are making more out of the muppets who just blindly buy these overpriced items without either knowing about DTD or who know about it but can't be arsed to put a few numbers into a web site than they are losing to a small bunch of DTD'ers.

Why are people feeling guilty you are doing nothing wrong. This is a Tesco promotion claiming to be cheaper than ASDA and INVITE you to input your receipt details on their website. If Tesco is not cheaper they will GIVE you a voucher for DTD to spend as you wish (excluding Lottery gift card etc). If you then go into Tesco to spend that voucher good luck where have you done anything wrong and why should you feel guilty and yes Tesco will again invite you to input your subsequent receipt details on their website. If anybody is wrong or should feel guilty it is Tesco because their claim is misleading to say that they are cheaper than Asda. I wonder how many customers have turned to Tesco soley because of this claim.

So next time you are pulled up by Customer Service don't be afraid in fact I would be annoyed.

Much earlier, someone was looking for GF foods on dtd. Debbie and Andrews sausages (buy Harrogate) are GF and I bought GF spaghetti today in T's for £1.28. A's seem to be £1 so waiting for a confirmation on this. Great if it comes through.

Wonder if anyone can help me. Went to do a shop today, with an £8.50 voucher and a £1.98. when both vouchers were scanned, they wouldnt go through. The checkout guy said the message was "voucher not accepted".

I'm wondering if somehow the vouchers have become linked to me, and have become blocked. I didn't want to cause a fuss, as they might realise I shouldnt be in the store at all, so just paid cash, but i'm wondering if it is worth giving a go again, or if I should just throw the vouchers away, and try and start fresh.
