Wonder if anyone can help me. Went to do a shop today, with an £8.50 voucher and a £1.98. when both vouchers were scanned, they wouldnt go through. The checkout guy said the message was "voucher not accepted".

I'm wondering if somehow the vouchers have become linked to me, and have become blocked. I didn't want to cause a fuss, as they might realise I shouldnt be in the store at all, so just paid cash, but i'm wondering if it is worth giving a go again, or if I should just throw the vouchers away, and try and start fresh.

    What have you done?? :eek::eek:

Why are people feeling guilty you are doing nothing wrong. This is a Tesco promotion claiming to be cheaper than ASDA and INVITE you to input your receipt details on their website. If Tesco is not cheaper they will GIVE you a voucher for DTD to spend as you wish (excluding Lottery gift card etc). If you then go into Tesco to spend that voucher good luck where have you done anything wrong and why should you feel guilty and yes Tesco will again invite you to input your subsequent receipt details on their website. If anybody is wrong or should feel guilty it is Tesco because their claim is misleading to say that they are cheaper than Asda. I wonder how many customers have turned to Tesco soley because of this claim.

So next time you are pulled up by Customer Service don't be afraid in fact I would be annoyed.

Everything you say is correct if you stick to one voucher a day and £100 per month.... most people (i suggest 95%) on here are doing many more than one voucher a day and miles more than the £100 a month limit...hence breaking the T&C's.

    So they are doing wrong!!!

Did my first proper DTD shop at the weekend, with a shop of just over £20, (not everything I bought was on the DTD list) and put the details in when I got home. Nothing came through, and each time I re-entered the details it came up with the message that the price check was being processed. This evening, five days after I put in the details, I got an email saying that they had been unable to find the receipt details. Is this happening very often? If it is, then this 'deal' ceases to be money saving and starts to become gambling. Do I have any further course of action or do I simply have to shrug my shoulders and say "them's the breaks"?

If there's nothing I can do about it, I think I'll go back to my usual shopping tactics of trawling the supermarkets for short dated reduced stuff, and getting my groceries from the likes of HomeBargains and B&M.
The results seem to be far more reliable.

Just to add, they are now keeping all old receipts in my local stores, seems to be the new unofficial policy.
Mine this evening called over her supervisor to check about the missing '9' but was happy enough really - I didn't mind her checking as it was all very friendly despite being over £19. Supervisor said in loud voice "sign the old receipt if the customer wants it back" to which I said "no thanks, I don't need it" and she screwed it up and threw it in the bin. So for those who've worried about collation and cross-checking, don't bother! No attempt to sign my new receipt either - or to complain about my sister at the next till when we were clearly together...

Speaking of sis, she went round the shop with me in complete disbelief but was converted when I said she could have one of my vouchers and get the Smirnoff with it if she paid for a few extra items (DTD of course!). She's uni age so obviously she's converted now ;)

But........what if you are one of the people NOT doing anything wrong and are still being subjected to Tesco Gestapo tactics?

This is so wrong for a company the size of Tesco and the fact that their business is driven by the general public.

I wombled a receipt yesterday which came back with a voucher for £1.04 which I gave to my son (aged 8). I think i've been spending too much time recently talking about DTD because he asked me "what can I buy with this mummy to make it grow?". So i gave him a 30p of betty crocker voucher as well and directed him to the pancake mix which then cost him 15p after all vouchers. :)

When I told him in the car that it would now get him a voucher for £2.48 he was very excited and I've advised him to spend that on cornettos in order to get £3 back. :j

When i got home and explained this all to hubby he looked distinctly unimpressed - do you think perhaps I've got a bit obsessed? :o

Not at all ~ teach em young cos they will need all these sorts of skills the state the countrys economy is in now and by the time he is buying real shopping

    Well done you :T

I'm now petrified to go back and use my vouchers with the receipt saying i'd paid with a coupon and really am wondering if its worth the bother!

Stay on here a bit longer and you'll get the bottle. Your skin will turn into one like a Rhino and you'll feel as if you have an army of a thousand behind you. I promise.;):T
