Let's stick to the first example you gave as it real things pointless with the toothpaste example as it just proves you get crappy goods

Agreed, but in reality, if you are prepared to spend a little time looking at the various resources i.e. websites & the spreadsheet, you can do a similar thing mathematically with other products so you don't just end up with toothpaste which as was pointed out was used to make the example easy. There are loads of items you could follow this example with that are used everyday by most households - certainly mine anyway.

Coffee, babywipes, toothapste, biscuits, fabric conditioner, beef joints, to name but a few off the top of my empty head,:D

I just wasnt sure if i would get the right things that gave a lot more money back...or the right toothbrush n wouldnt be able to use the kids one if i didnt so i just stuck with the things which were effectively free or just a minor difference....

So i only realised that you could spend a lot less than £20 (£13) to get a £20 voucher.... only had my first DTD voucher so still a bit nervous about things... :)

Going to try the suncream tomorrow and hope its still on at £5 in asda.

What happens if the asda price is less on the day an item was bought for more in tesco but then the nex day asda increase their price? Does this affect DTD?

And if i was converting £5 of vouchers to £10 on toiletries, buying 9.99 suncream what would be the best way to top this up to >10.00. Or am i better converting £10 worth to £20 and then iget £20 in vocuehr back the next day? IFYWIM lol

I mix the things I buy off the list - eg get items that work out they are giving you back more in DTD than they cost - eg Frijj milkshakes, with any other items. This equals out so you keep the DTD 'balance'

The DTD is worked out based on the price you pay on the day of your receipt against the price in Asda that day , I believe.

Not sure on your last query re the voucher conversion - I am sure one of the clever bods on here will answer that for you though.

ok £16.. or add couple betty shaker panckake and spend £13 for £20.. was just setting is as a quick example as its 1.30 am....

so for my £13 i can get

1 tootbrush (with kids this usefull for a start)
2 panckae mixes.. (not so great but can be ate, gave to charity, etc)

    and £20 voucher...

    joint of beef £8.98
    joint of pork £5.98
    cornettos £2.50
    pie £2.20

say thats it for the £20.. asda price say its only £9 im only £4 under my original sprend..

REPEAT IT with teh next £20 voucher...
    .

    joint of beef £8.98
    joint of pork £5.98
    cornettos £2.50
    pie £2.20

£9 + £9 ealier im now up and we can still repeat it more times THIS month let alone next..... all the time it repeats its profit..

these are just quick random baskets tp prove the point....

To make it work using most of your example

    Shop 1
Toothbush...£10...pancake mix £1.49*2 total spend £12.98 DTD = £20.96 (capped at £20) so already this is not the most effective 1st spend! ...my arguement that it is not so easy stands...equil spend at Asda at this time is just £2.50
    Shop 2
joint of beef £8.98...joint of pork £5.98
cornettos £2.50*2 (had to replace pie as wasnt sure asda price)
comes to under £20! so tecnically if you come across a fussy cs they wouldnt let you use voucher...again more proof of how it is not so straight forward
Cost £0 as you use your voucher.give voucher of £22.18 (again capped so again the shop not as effective as it should be!) Asda price for this woudl total £8.87.

After two shops you spent £12.98 at Tesco spend at Asda would have been £11.37..so your down £1.61

repeat of shop 2 for shop 3 then your up £7.26.
repeat of shop 3 for shop 4 then your up £16.13.

at shop 13 you finally would make over £100...this was my original point the offer is good...but its not free..its taken 13 shops to get £100 worth off stuff...lots of time effort and petrol!!!!

Went shopping earlier and picked up 2 bottles of Wolf Blass Sauvignon Blanc by mistake (should have got the Chardonnay), I was just wondering if anyone else has put a receipt for this through? I can't find it on Tesco or Asda sites.

I think your missed my point totally. It not just about getting a voucher. Not all items you buy are dtd some are over ...some under ...some about even. You will.always end up paying a £1 or so on every spend. Again if you could demonstrate through real examples then it would really help your argument.
Sorry to jump in here but it's very easy to spend a £20 voucher to generate another £20 voucher. I do it every day.

    3 quick examples

    Red Salmon £3.98
    Surf Small & Mighty £8.99
    Comfort Strawberry £2.15
    Tetley tea bags £ £3.88
    Pot Noodle £1.00

    Total £20
    DTD £20

    Heros £3.96
    Fray Bentos Pie £2.09
    Comfort £2.15
    Flora £1.95
    Aqua Fresh £1.98
    Tea bags £3.88
    Flash Wipes £2
    2 X Pot Noodles £20

    Total £20.01
    DTD £20.02

    Comfort £2.15
    Surf £8.99
    3 X Magnums £6.87
    Flash Wipes £2.00

    Total £20.01
    DTD £20.10

I have several more lists with different variations of many products that total between £19.80 and £20.10 that all give you a £20 voucher return.

You accept it is easy to turn £10 into £16, then £16 into £20.

So after a £10 initial spend you can reach £100 in 5 steps.
    £10 Start.
    £16
    £20
    £20
    £20
    £20

Total £106 for an initial £10 outlay.

It matters not if you could have got all that for half the price in Mr A.
I've got it all for just £10.

Hubby was told that Tescos would call the police if he went in again to use a DTD voucher to buy anything. The manager/supervisor told him not to go in any,or to use a DTD and to tell his "friends"" , not that we even know who hes refering to.. And it was only Hubbys 2nd time in this store..
He said he was basically "stealing" things from Tesco and that the police would be called in the future.

Do u think a complaint to HO is needed or should we just leave this??

I would make a complaint to head office, disgraceful treatment of a customer.
