Can you exchange a £5 voucher for £10 voucher to be used on toiletries and use it on
......suncream?
......lynx?
to the value of £10 and then pay using the voucher. Then claim back DTD on the receipt?
Would this be allowed or work?
yes i did it the other day.. swapped a £5 for £10 and bout suncream, be wary though as it has to be the same or more as the voucher.. i had £9.99 suncream and £10 voucher so had to add . luckly enough i had some deodarant in the next basket..0 -
I can kinda see where buyer is coming from...
e.g my first DTD shop cost me in tesco about £20 cash....
Same basket would have been £10 in asda.....
2nd DTD shop......basket £20 pay with voucher.
same basket would have been £10 in asda getting the same things. So at this point if i had bought the same items in asda i would still have outlayed £20 for the same items.
3rd shop.... awaiting DTD voucher(hoping it comes tomorrow) Only then will i be 'in profit'. And that is if my basket goes to plan...if i get N/As and no voucher i will have broke even by getting shopping to the value of what i spent at the cheapest price if that makes sense??0 -
I have rarely used a voucher to pay for another voucher shop( I didn't feel right doing that so stopped and used a voucher for the real bargains.) However, even with me £100 of savings does not equal a true save of just £50. For instance with dishwasher tablets you get a minus price.
For an initial outlay of £20 (if you are not an old dtder who bought baileys for their first dtd) it is possible to get £20 voucher back. I personally am not brave enough to do that. And also, after the initial flurry of after eight buys and baileys, I am buying things I actually use and so not be too upset if it doesn't register as dtd.
It is a fantastic promotion and I hope it continues long enough so my parents and OHs parents can benefit, as I've just started to shop for them, after giving up trying to explain how it works.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -

OOh so the lynx would work perfectly...but that would mean buying ten right?
So if i had £10 vouchers and exhanged it for £20 suncream what would b the less expensive item i could add that wont affect my DTD? or is there a better way to do it?0 -
ok £16.. or add couple betty shaker panckake and spend £13 for £20.. was just setting is as a quick example as its 1.30 am....
so for my £13 i can get
1 tootbrush (with kids this usefull for a start)
2 panckae mixes.. (not so great but can be ate, gave to charity, etc)
and £20 voucher...
joint of beef £8.98
joint of pork £5.98
cornettos £2.50
pie £2.20
say thats it for the £20.. asda price say its only £9 im only £4 under my original sprend..
REPEAT IT with teh next £20 voucher...
.
joint of beef £8.98
joint of pork £5.98
cornettos £2.50

£9 + £9 ealier im now up and we can still repeat it more times THIS month let alone next..... all the time it repeats its profit..

but
1) you wouldnt need to spend £20 to get £20
2) you could have that as your only outlay and then just recycle..
the list is big enough to buy lots of things to make it work best..
say 10 £2 items in tesco is 10 £1 item in asda thats still £10
4 lots of this is £40 for a £13 oultay... your £27 UP in month 1..
thats saying you only do teh 5.. people do 5 a day!!!!0 -

Let's stick to the first example you gave as it real things pointless with the toothpaste example as it just proves you get crappy goods0 -
I just wasnt sure if i would get the right things that gave a lot more money back...or the right toothbrush n wouldnt be able to use the kids one if i didnt so i just stuck with the things which were effectively free or just a minor difference....
So i only realised that you could spend a lot less than £20 (£13) to get a £20 voucher.... only had my first DTD voucher so still a bit nervous about things...
Going to try the suncream tomorrow and hope its still on at £5 in asda.
What happens if the asda price is less on the day an item was bought for more in tesco but then the nex day asda increase their price? Does this affect DTD?
And if i was converting £5 of vouchers to £10 on toiletries, buying 9.99 suncream what would be the best way to top this up to >10.00. Or am i better converting £10 worth to £20 and then iget £20 in vocuehr back the next day? IFYWIM lol0
