I suspect this has been asked many times so apologies!!
I am due an upgrade from iphone 3g
Should I wait the iphone 5 and still have to pay the £400 or however much it will be or do I get the Iphone 4?
I am pretty sure phones are only programmed to work for so long I swear for the last month mine has been really playing up, loosing calls, cutting off, not telling me I have messages
So what do you clever guys reccommend?

Wait for the iphone 5... why get a contract with what'll soon be outdated tech.:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0

three do the iphone 4 for £69, then £35 per month on the one plan.
there are rumours that there wont be an iphone 5 untill 2012??? so who knows !0 -
As the 5 is not yet out who knows it may suffer more problems than the 4 did on it's launch?
But then again it might not.0 -
I hear rumours that there will be many new releases in Sept of this year (or as put to me by someone who "knows nothing" 'after summer). I trust this information, either that or this guy needs to take up acting as a main career!
I was going to double-up my near life long collection of Tesco Vouchers for an I-touch4 but am not able to do so knowing all that now! Guess it'll be the next double-up IF they chose to include apple products. Intelligence is a curse (:rotfl:never really been able to say that about myself before)0 -
I would get the Iphone 4 , theres not much more they can add to the Iphone5 to make it worth the value a contract will cost you, at the end of the day its all about money , example iphone4 £69 and a monthly contract cost , Iphone 5 £200 plus monthly contract , plus no one really know if they have or will release a Iphone5 in the comming months :j0

The next Iphone will be out June Apple always release iPhones in June they won't change that scheduleI hear rumours that there will be many new releases in Sept of this year (or as put to me by someone who "knows nothing" 'after summer). Question is will it be a re-working (iphone 5) or a tweak ala Iphone 4GS0 -
The iPhone 5 is scheduled for release in September 2011. This is due to the short supply of touchscreens from China.
To be honest I would wait as there is not enough difference to warrant a change from 3G to 4.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
Actually the manufacturer run is now rumoured to start in September with the iPhone 5 being launched in fiscal year 2012. As steve1980 said, there's not going to be that much of a difference and unless you spend your time downloading movies etc with your mobile, 4G will provide little benefit over 7.2mbps HSDPA.0

I'll be the one to say it... what about switching to Android Phone? You'll get a bfaster phone than an Iphone 4 and possibly a better camera too, for a lower price.
My Dad just got an LG optimus 2X and it's way ahead of the current Iphone 4 features. 4 inch screen, 1080p video recording, upto 40gb storage, HDMI connection to TV, 8 mega pixel camera, all for £30 per month and a free phone.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

I don't agree that smartphones have a certain shelflife, I know people with original iphone that are still going strong!
I have a 3GS & my contract runs out in about 6 weeks & I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade to an iPhone 4 rather than wait for the next model, as plenty on here have said no-one yet know when it will be released, or even what else they will / can add.
The iPhone 4 has had most of it's initial problems ironed out now so it's a good choice to be honest.
