Evening Messies.
Hope all is still ok with bexterragga and YL.
Emms, good news about your DD. She must be getting so fed up with it all by now. I've only partly pruned my lavenders, as I left the remaining flowers for the occasional bees still hanging on. Then the weather got really horrible, and I never got around to finishing.
I keep forgetting to check our microwave, sonastin, and I should know better, as OH never bothers to clean it. I must have a look tomorrow.
Alec e, you're lucky to have a sunny day. We were forecast sun, but it only made a brief appearance then came over very dull and cloudy. It's got very cold, though, and the local paper website said that there would be gritters out tonight.
Had a not very good Christmas shopping trip today. OH and I knew exactly where we wanted to go. Mum, who said that she couldn't possibly shop for the DDs prezzies, so I offered to get them for her, insisted on coming with us. Of course, the problem with that was she kept wanting to look at other things, and wanted to got to Mr M's whilst in town. So, we ended up only getting DD2's prezzie, and not DD1's, because we didn't have time to stop off at the appropriate shop on the edge of town. It was already 2pm, and we'd not had lunch. OH and I didn't get a few prezzies we wanted, either. That means we'll have to go in again next week. Ho hum. Ironically, the prezzies we did manage to get were the ones we're giving to Mum, and we got those when she went off to a shop we never go in!
I've managed to get the washing under control, and the making of Christmas and birthday cards. Only have another 4 C cards to make, I think. The kitchen and the bathroom are reasonably clean. Will have to vacuum again on Friday, as I have some people coming round for a meeting. Still, not bad, really.0 -
Another sunny day here today *yay*, really frosty and gorgeous. So far today I have written my Christmas cards, put the dishes away, made the bed, done a load of laundry, had a general tidy round and now I'm quilting. When I've finished a few more strips I'll have some pressing to do so I'll do a bit of ironing while I'm at it.
We did the full budget last night and I'm very excited that it starts tomorrow. Have a great day everyone.0 -
Morning Messies.
Well oine for getting the budget sorted, alec e, and I hope it all works out well for you.
It wa frosty here, too, but all signs of it had vanished by 8.15. Very sunny, though, and there's a wind. I'll be wrapping up warmly for the yard. Have BM on, courtesy of OH, and the WM's whirring away. Will start putting away some of the card-making materials today, and hopefully make some mince pies to go in the freezer.0 -
Hi Messies.
Bexterragga - I totally understand about the dog-poo. I don`t mind picking up after my old Daftie-dog, but not other folks` pets!
Bearcub - I sympathise with your shopping trip - I`ll yet have to face going into town with DS while HE shops, as he doesn`t drive. It`s VERY wearing!!
Alec E - well done on the budget, and good luck with staying on target.
Today`s been very cold but sunny here. I did a big Mr.T shop today, mostly stocking up on some non-perishables/staples/ plus a couple of nice big smoked gammon joints & a few wine boxes(!) Apart from the catfood pouches ("guts in jelly" as DGD calls them!) I`m hoping it`ll be my last trip there till after Christmas.
Then I nipped into Co-op as I had a £2 off £20 spend voucher, so I`m WELL stocked up on their FairTrade coffee & Harrissa jars.
I`ve since managed to put everything away...caravan of Doom is a Godsend now!
Then I`ve shaken v.hairy rugs, Henry`d LR, washed v. hairy rugs, mopped LR floor & put clean hairy rugs down. Daftie-dog was confined to kitchen till floor dried, but compensated with her weekly treat, a large can of pilchards!. She was still chasing the empty bowl around the kitchen when I let her back in LR! (I was rewarded with some very fishy-stinky licks.)
No further news of DD yet. Still thumb-twiddling....
I think we need CHIPS!!!. Just need to decide what with.
Have a nice evening all. x.0 -
Oh, Emms, I was hoping there was news of your new GC by now. Dragging on a bit, isn't it?0

Where have all the Messies gone?
All gone and got tidy for Christmas, or far too busy being busy?

Far too busy doing nothing!
Actually, OH is trying to work out where he should put the stove in his boat. And I have to sit here and listen to his musings and share my opinion every now and again. So that he can totally ignore me if my opinion is wrong. But I have to have one nevertheless. Regardless of how uninterested I am! :rotfl: I wouldn't mind but we've reached a "final" decision at least 3 times now. Still if the "how are we going to lay out the bathroom" discussion is anything to go by, he's going to change his mind at least another 3 before its fitted.:rotfl: Oh, and bathroom still isn't done so there's more time to change his mind again :rotfl:
Still, it gets me out of cleaning the house bathroom yet again. I REALLY should just get on and do it. But if I leave it a bit longer, we're almost into the getting-ready-for-christmas cleaning then. Oh, that's really not the right attitude is it. I should just get on with it. It is one of those jobs that I never want to get started but its never as bad as I think once I'm doing it.
I have managed to do 2 WM loads today and had them both out on the line. They're in the tumbly drier now because our line is on the North side of the house and doesn't get any sunshine in the winter so no drying is happening at the moment0 -
Bless you, sonastin, how on earth do you cope with him? My OH is very laid-back and can take ages to get round to doing things (though not cooking, fortunately), but he's not one for constantly changing his mind. I'm sure it won't take too long to clean the bathroom, not really.
Our garden faces south, but it's been so cold here, surprisingly, that nothing would have dried. I'm managing to keep the washing under control, and I vacummed the lounge, kitchen and conservatory yesterday, simply because a couple fo people came round for a meeting. Adn I've finally cleared away materials I use for birthday cards, and just have Christmas stuff now, but it's mostly all in a large folder, and ALL of it is in one box.0 -
OH fitted my mum's kitchen a couple of years ago and couldn't believe how indecisive she was about just about everything. My favourite way to wind him up used to be telling him he was turning into his mother. Now I tell him he's turning into MY mother :rotfl:
It was quite warm in the sunshine in our front garden today. Didn't fancy putting our underwear on the maiden out front from all the neighbours to see though. The average age on this street is about 97 and I'm not sure they could take it
I wish I had the dedication to do crafting stuff properly. Actually, I wish I had the co-ordination as well! I think my hands were screwed on upside down. I can just about do knitting but never get round to finishing anything. Started circular knitting a few months ago and can't remember how to pick it up again so might have to ditch it. Proper crafty-stuff like cards and quilts and stuff sounds so nice but I would never have the patience to deal with my inevitable scr*w ups, let alone finish anything off!0 -
Morning Messies!
Just a quickie to announce...DD `hatched` on Friday afternoon!!!
Baby Owen 8lb, little cherub - both well but sleeping off the efforts whenever I`ve seen them!
Will catch up tomorrow. Off to work now. x0
