  • Beetroot cake is lovely bearcub. I have only had one person so far guess what the hidden ingredient is, even after being told it was a vegetable.

JP are you meant to hoover into the corners then?:D I'd better get my hoover out and find some of my corners!
  • Hello everyone, it's been ages since I posted.

Need to organise myself with some sort of daily cleaning plan, the house is a mess and I hate it

Off to have a catch up
  • Hello all

Hope you dont mind me joining in for a brief spell - we will be tryng to get our house into shape over the Xmas and NY period. Although its mostly tidy, we have a garage which is quite busy with stuff now it would seem!

Was a little hectic yesterday. Did a big food shop to last us 3 weeks +, then came home and spent much of the day cuddled up under a blanket in the warm! Got a few things organised here though - got parcels to send out today for eBay purposes plus a couple of returns for DM.
Cleaned my room and changed the sheets last night...bunny #2 had a right old game with that as he was up there at the same time as I was trying to be tidy - he chased me everywhere I went trying to help!! :rotfl:

The main point of this post other than the garage is that we are going to be dredging through DDad's old wardrobe in a few weeks time. :( We sifted through some of the old clothes that were immediately visible back when he passed, and today Mum put out a charity bag (one of the ones that come through the door) with some of his old pjs in it. We werent going to touch anything of his until the new year but DM is of the opinion she doesnt want to carry anything over with her and start as fresh as possible. Some of them will be donated, and some (mainly work shirts) we are looking to give to a family friend who is about the same build as my Dad.

We're not planning to have it done overnight but we do need to sift through it. Sigh.

Is bunny a real actual bunny? If so I am impressed if you got anything done, anywhere mine go they leave a trail of destruction!

Yes bunny is a real actual bunny. We have two, they're about a year apart in age but they get on fabulously. They've got separate indoor hutches at the moment due to horrible weather, and they have a outdoor hutch each and a large run (currently stored sideways in our aforementioned garage lol).

This particular one I mention from last night likes to chase dangly pieces of fabric in an excited manner - he used to hump them too until he got too aggressive when I took them away and would growl at and bite me; he got the 'snip' after one incident made my arm bleed. :(

I have two too, an English and a German Lop, they live in the house all the time. They're out and about whenever I'm at home but we have an 8ft x 4ft pen in the living room where they sleep and sulk. The Lop can be pretty aggressive but we're finally (after 3 years) making some headway with her.

Today I've been working on budget stuff and a household notebook. After the emotional weekend I'm taking a bigger part in the day to day financial and organising side of things so I'm playing with figures.
  • Afternoon Messies,

Been an extremely wet and windy weekend here in Worcestershire and one of my fence panels has blown down! Good in one way, as the landlady will have to pay to get it repaired. Bad in one way as she wants to come round and have a look at the fence first!

I'm trying to fob her off at the moment, just so I can get the house straight - nothing like an emergency to force you into 'doing'!

I've been to the gym this morning and made a very healthy lunch, even made my own french dressing! So now I need to get a move on with the tidying :)

Hope you're all having a good day
  • Hi Messies, good to hear from you all. Keep calm & de-messifying (corners, JPS, what corners?)
I hope all the aches & pains & glooms improve, I`m sure weather has plenty to do with it! Nothing to report here, DD thumb-twiddling like a little round time-bomb, me all wet & windswept after an afternoon shopping in town. Just going to make fire & get jamas on, early supper & early night - 6am will be a shock to my system in the morning!
  • I have the exact same problem. I am really struggling to keep on top of the housework at the moment because I am pregnant and have horrendous morning, noon and night sickness so spend most of the day vomiting (I can't even face the dishes without any smells of old food turning my stomach), I have a toddler who comes behind me to trash the house, my partner is at work everyday and I also work 2 night shifts a week as a Care Assistant so I feel exhausted all the time... I get so upset when the house is a mess but I just feel so weak and ill at the moment that I can't do it.
