My home is a mess

Thanks Emm - sounds easy enough to do! We have an eclectic store nearby which does kilner jars for a pretty good price. I'm thinking a large one of them might do the trick? Figuring out how many eggs could be a challenge though!0

After all the cleaning I've done this week I need a new routine. The house is usually very tidy but wow it is not "very" clean. And by that I mean all the really detailed cleaning like blinds, bins, the bottom bits of chairs that are there for no other reason than to collect dust and all that stuff. The bathroom and kitchen are always clean but all the little things, they needed a wipe!0

Do you think my dad would be put out if I gave him a hm jar of pickled eggs for Christmas? :rotfl:0

Not if he likes pickled eggs!0

Morning All!
Welcome Liwi31. I`m sure your dad would be chuffed with a jar of home-made pickled eggs (if he likes them as Alec E pointed out!)
Sonastin - I`ve never bought a jar specially for the purpose, but I have bought the large jars of large pitted green olives from Lidl, decanted them into smaller jars, and used the olive jars for pickled eggs! The olive jars are quite `pretty` and we use a lot of olives anyway so it`s not as daft as it may sound. My late hubby (when we were a large houseful) used to do eggs in a big glass sweet jar, if you can find those nowadays. It wasn`t easy getting the last few out of the jar though...
Alec, I`d be happy with ANY routine right now!
Today I`ve put some more washing outside, yesterday`s stuff dried ok but hanging around everywhere `airing` indoors, so the business of putting it away will have to happen... Next door`s lass is coming round to help me colour my hair later, but first I`m doing a trip to farm shop & taking some fruit/veg up to DD`s.
Better get going before he sellls the best sprout-stalks. I like the ones with plenty of stuff on top, steam them separately like mini-cabbages.

Had quite a productive morning so far - cleaned bathroom, mopped kitchen & utility room floors, done 2 laundry loads. Just noticed that its raining now though and I've got a load out on the line . It got caught in a hail shower an hour ago but the sun came back out before I had chance to bring it back in. Now its properly raining and from the looks of it, it has been for a while. Oh well, I guess load 2 can go in the tumbly drier and load 1 can go back in the WM for another spin before tumbling. Either that or I leave it all out on the line while we go to ikea this afternoon and figure out what to do with it all tonight. A good blow on the line will do it good even if it doesn't get dry0

Tomorrows list is going to be very short as we are out most of the day, I plan
to:
- clear draining board
- laundry
- dw
Alec E I love your quilt, the design is fantastic.
Yesterday I managed everything on my list, but nothing else.
Today we are visiting the inlaws but before we left I went to the hospital for some tests, dropped by the doctors to collect our prescriptions and sorted out a load for the WM, which I'll set to run over night & OH did the DW hokey cokey and emptied the kitchen bin. We won't be back until about 10pm so not much more will be done today.
Tomorrow I plan to:
-laundry
-DW hokey cokey
-build shelves
-put board games on new shelves
- washing up
-clear draining board
Hopefully more will be achieved.

Hi all!!
Back to school for my two youngest on Monday, then it's the big house tidy up ready for christmas!! (yes it will take THAT LONG to get our house in order!!)
I baked this morning, made a tatie pot for the supper and have spent the afternoon in a freezing cold sports hall watching my youngest play in a tennis comp - it was worth it though as she won it!! :j
Another tennis comp all day tomorrow, but when we get back i've just got to get the uniforms ready for school and then get the kids bathed & fed & then bed, i'm sure it won't take long!!
This week i'm hoping to get the conservatory tidied and keep on top of it till xmas...................;)

xxxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
FW, well done your DS! PLEASE, will you tell us what your `tatie pot` is? It sounds warm & wholesome, but details please.
BB, a list that is completed on the day is a realistic list.
Chez-Emm....
Got home last night after the long-day (nice one, very busy but `nice` busy!) to find DGD in residence again - haven`t seen her for a few days so lots of hugs & fuss - but bits of her stuff on EVERY flat surface, but never mind! I did an un-planned supper - roasted aubergines, quick-fried pork steaks and steamed baby pots with a jar of tomato& balsamic sauce I found in the cupboard. Dd a quick washing-up before I went to bed so the kitchen wasn`t bad to get up to after a lie-in today!
Bird-feeders refilled, lazy mug of coffee....noticed a couple of Brambling pecking around under the feeders. Apparently the beech-mast crop in Scandinavia, where they stay till it gets a lot colder, isn`t good this year so they`re coming back earlier...
I suspect there`ll be a lot of gazing out of LR window today...0 -
my orderly house is in such a mess since i joined up to all these different threads lol! have decided that i shall get kitchen sorted tonight once everyone is asleep and then rest of house tomorrow0
