My home is a mess

  • Now hold on there fellow messies! :hello:
I'm off the computer for a few days due to family things and wallop! I've suddenly got nearly 20 pages of posts to read (I'm only on page 25 so far) and if I carry on catching up ....... no corners/areas will get "the treatment" it so badly needs what am I to do;)
Have half sorted in front of the little freezer area and it does look a little better and the sorted areas are being kept tidy BUT
the main problem I'm finding is trying to train other people to put things back and get rid of the dreaded disease "nopickingupitus" -they wouldn't dream of dropping stuff on the floor at grandma's so why do they at home??? - they're not kids !!!
Moan and groan over now - I'll get back to the mess now otherwise I'll be getting withdrawal symptoms
(hope everyone has a good day at whatever they try to do)
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:

    Morning all.

Hart44, I hope your op goes well.

I've only done little things so far today. Breakfast stuff washed up, animals seen to and bathroom sink cleaned.

I was thinking about hubby's messiness and was reminded of when we first started seeing each other. As he lived 40 miles away, I only went over to his at the weekends. His place was a tip, empty pop bottles and pizza boxes everywhere and no washing up done.
The first thing I'd do was the washing up as there were never any clean cups or plates etc. He had a bottle of washing up liquid that his parents had bought him when he was in Uni, that was 3 years previously and was still half full!

One weekend I couldn't go over, and the next weekend that I went, both he and his mate banned me from going in the kitchen. "It's really, really bad." his mate said. I tried pointing out that if I didn't do it then, it would be even worse the following weekend, but they still wouldn't let me go in.
So, hubby was told that he would have to get it all done before I came next.

Did he? Nah! I spent several hours the following weekend in that kitchen and the washing up liquid was finally used up!

I should have known he wouldn't change. <rolls eyes> It's a good job he's a really lovely man apart from his messiness, otherwise I think divorce proceedings would have been instigated! :rotfl:

    Good morning :D
I have cleaned the kitchen and hoovered right through and even caught up with the washing (only 1 pair of jeans in the ironing basket :D) hopefully it will have to do for about 2 weeks, I can do some things one handed :D
My lot will have to help :rotfl:
My poor DS will have to walk to and from school while i can't drive and it's typical the weather changing now, just hope the rain stays off for those times for him. He has to cross a VERY busy main rd that's why I do the school run (just over a mile) so I will have to get him across the road, he is very sensible though :D
Hope everyone has a good day :D
Catch up later when I get back :D just don't get to chatty :rotfl:
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

;) I snuck a bit of cleaning in before going offline and going out the door; got the breakfast stuff washed up and managed to clean doors on one wall cupboard and one lower cupboard in the kitchen. It's white melamine and shows every mark. I plan to sneak my way around the kitchen (all 6 sq feet of it) bit by bit.

    Morning all

Spent yesterday evening sewing seeds - very pleasurable 2 hours - far more enjoyable than housework :p

So far today I have washed up, cleaned worktops, been to Lottie, been to shop and hoovered Living Room

DH is now making me some early lunch after which I aim to clear the stairs of the various piles [does anyone else use their stairs as a dumping ground] then I'm gonna hoover them and then give the carpet a bit of a wash as its disgusting - so much so that I won't walk on it in bare feet - yuck, yuck:eek:

Hart - hope all goes well and that your recovery is pain and clutter free

Well apart from making bed and washing dishes i haven't done anything on the cleaning front today. I have done some sorting out though and had a think about what stuff can go.

Been trying to decide what to do about some stuff. a ebay which i know i should really but i know i won't due to lack of time or b give it away to someone who needs it and not feel guilty about the money i wasted on it in the first place or my lazy ineptitude off not finding time to ebay it.
