Just back from the shops. Only went for a few fridge bits and to pay bills and ended up buying all kinds. Mind you I went into our m&s and bought the three for ten pounds on meat. Good value as I got sausages 16 in a pack x2 and some aberdeen burgers. The sausages work out as four meals for us so thats a total of five meals for a tenner.Another good deal is at Tesco, three big jars of Dolmio bolognaise sauce for three pounds.
Im not buying any more food in now Its like a compulsion.
Iv never heard of lentil bolognaise sounds intresting .
Anyway I have mopped the floors and cleaned the cat box. At least Iv done something.0 -
cleaned the downstairs loo, skirtings and all! and washed the bathroom floor and skirting too (cleaned it last night as DS2 had an accident in there:eek:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

hi all,
i was following this thread along with you guys, and doing my bit, but then life hapened to me. My friends grandad died and she and her 4 kids came to stay and then my other friend came the day after leaving, and now im back to square one. Am so tired and feel so despondant, its all got on top of me n now i dont know where to start. I could cry i really could. The houses on how clean is your house look like immaculate mansions to mine. Grrrrr am sorry im having a moan, but just letting you know im back, and i have a lot of catching up to do, left this thread on page 11 heheheheh not much reading to do then. Hope you are all ok.

I love this thread. Rigsby 1967 you so made me laugh with the timer thing. That is so me i can never seem to move on when the dratted thing goes off. And as for craft stuff... uumm oh dear.
I'm sat here now almost asleep when I should be writing a list of what I need to do. Mind you I think it's obvious really I just need a drastic, guilt free declutter cos you can't organise clutter. I hope for once that realisation has really registered.0 -
Can someone please tell me where I left the remote control for my life so I can press pause?
Too many things are going on and I'm starting to drown in mess again. Since I was in on Friday there has been:-
* An unexpected need to buy new trainers (see my diary on dfw for the boring details)
* An unexpected invite to a friends house for the evening
* An unexpected day spent in A & E with bf's dad (they sent him away without knowing what is wrong but he seems to be ok for the moment
* A totally expected and trained for 10K (details also on Diary)
After all that by Sunday lunchtime I was wiped and just wanted to sit in front of tv with bf. And that's exactly what I did.
Today I went to work and then had a necessary trip to get my phone looked at. They looked at the stuck button instantly replaced it so I've spent this evening syncing my old back up to the new phone and getting back in business.
For now I am just going to put 1 load of washing in the machine and go for an early night. NEED SLEEP!!Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0 -
I've just unloaded the washer and a large sponge scourer fell out when I dragged the proper stuff out. Didn't put it thru on purpose but can only think that it must have caught up with the towel I grabbed off the counter. It's come up lovely, too. Never knew they were washable!
i've been washing my scrubby sponges and jclothes for years, mind you, i do mine in the washing machine, i think using the dishwasher (intentionally!) is dodgy too much to get caught up in.
i find i can wash the sponges 4-5 times before they get really ratty then i save them up for disposable type jobs like cleaning the grease out of my forman grill tray or cleaning the loo etc cuz i don't feel guilty about tossing them in the bin after using them then.
jcloths can be washed til they start to get uber fuzzy and holey, still you could use them in crafts for the kids even then...
btw i'm loving this thread, it's made me finally get off my backside and attack the kitchen and rest of the house with dogged determination. i have a lot of problems with my knee and my back but the baby steps works well even around then, in fact i get sore from setting so much so getting up and cleaning for 5-10 mintues helps take the stress off me, i'm not as stiff now and i feel good cuz my house isn't as much of a tip! thanks all, keep up the good work!0 -
Oooh can I join you here??
I posted a thread explaining that i'm new to all this and have a 9month old son and 2 mad border collies to contend with (plus a v laxy other half!!)
Although I have lived in my own home for 10 years I have never been very houseproud and preferred to spend my time dog training and sewing (odd combination I know)
Now that bubba is here I am trying to turn over a new leaf and learn to cook and keep the house tidy......but it's hard , especially when working 3 days a week and having 2 dogs that LOVE to get wet and muddy whenever possible.
So...today i managed to wipe the kitchen sides, sweep the kitchen floor, wipe the fronts of the units and hoover the lounge. FOr a work day that's a miracle!!!0 -
Thank god for this thread! I have been shamed into sorting my flat! My OHs mate said he wouldnt have a shower here after there hike on Sat as our shower is mucky (the shame!) I almost died when OH told me that he had gone to his own house. To be honest hes a bit funny about things and the shower wasnt awful but its jolted me into action. Today (day off work) ive started and done 5 hours cleaning.
1. loads of washing & drying on line
2. Clean washing that lived in hall away
3. Super cleaned bathroom
4. Super cleaned fridge & kitchen
5. Tidied wardrobe
Heres to the future!0
