Helen Jelly - I hope you finally escaped from the ironing, it's a horrible job.

I love sewing too Hart 44 and have the same sort of problems with threads and fabric bits, especially from the overlocker which is currently broken:mad:. My poor DH has a terrible time trying to get it up as the vacuuming is his job.;)

I have from now until 8am to fill as I'm all dressed and ready for work. I think I will have a good go at the bedroom, when I have finished my tea and toast of course. ;) I may also try to get the floor mopped downstairs.

PS Greyqueen - I was thinking off you the other day and your pile of envelopes has reminded me - could you paint the back of your kitchen door with blackboard paint [or a space on the wall] and then wite your lists on them - I'm gonna do that when I redecorate the kitchen :][/QUOTE]:) Morning Helen, good idea but I think my landlord might object! Plus, not really feasible here as the kitchen opens off the living room with a sliding door between them which is permantly slid open as I like to be able to see the kitchen window.

:( Unfortunately, it also means seeing the kitchen sink and any clutter therein, but that's life.

:D Have decluttered something awkward from the sitting room and it's due to depart via Freecycle this evening. I'm getting a distinct pleasure in giving things away....going minimalist. :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day and makes small inroads into their personal piles and has some R & R, too.

    Evening all

Sorry I've not been on but I've been poorly, I've suddenly developed some kind of intolerance to eggs!!! I'm ok if they are used in cake mixture or the like but on their own [poached, boiled etc] I can't stomach them - pardon the pun!! So I've had a poorly day today and am now off eggs big time which is a shame cos I love them in a sandwich.

    :]

Have you checked out that it is eggs themselves that are causing the problem iyswim? I presume the eggs you buy are freerange anyway? (ie it wouldnt be down to anything in the conditions that battery hens have??).

Just thinking that it must be very awkward to devise a diet minus eggs in any form - so I would work my way personally through trying:
    - upping a level from freerange eggs to freerange organic eggs

if that didnt work (ie I was still ill)

    - trying eggs from a different supplier (as maybe the hens providing the ones you usually have are being fed different food to usual - and that is what you are actually allergic to iyswim).

    next up:
    - trying different types of eggs (eg ducks eggs for instance - which you would likely be able to buy from a farmers market).

Its worth trying out variants on a theme - just in case its not the item itself thats at fault (I recall reading that a woman thought she was allergic to apples - it turned out that she was actually allergic to all the chemicals used on conventionally-grown apples, but was fine with organic apples).

If all else fails - and you've worked your way through trying out different options - then vegans have lots of ideas for what to use to replace eggs in cooking. So you could put up a thread entitled "Calling all vegans - what can I use instead of eggs in cooking?".

    Morning all.

I've been good this morning. Got up at 5am needing the loo, so decided to stay up rather than go back to bed and have done last nights dishes (and this mornings breakfast stuff), ironed hubby a couple of shirts, sorted out the recycling and bins as they're collected today and seen to the animals.

Sebastian didn't start crowing until 6 and I could barely hear him over the noise of the wild birds morning chorus, so that's good.

Regarding bits of thread dropping on the floor, how about getting a plastic tablecloth (just one of the thin cheap ones) and putting that under your work area?

Tenmah, I hope your ear is feeling better today.

Hello fellow messies. It`s definately messy in my kitchen/diner/office today.
Have washing on a chair waiting to be folded/ironed. WM on with a load on the floor waiting to go in. It`s lovely and sunny so hopefully will dry nicely on the line.
Have newspapers for recycling, pile of papers for shredding.
Busy working today though so will have to do ironing and tidying after work.
Weeded the front garden yesterday. I have some geraniums and buzy lizzies to plant out but think I need to wait a while longer in case of frost.

Oh my! How gorgeous is little Sebastian and his Mrs!!

    Morning all:j
I managed a little lie in this morning while the little one was watching Madagascar....bad mummy!!!!

Yesterday in the garden I rescued my long lost washing line:D
I am planning on getting through an awful amount of washing today now and not using the tumble, must keep an eye on the weather though.

Apart from that I have decided no garden stuff until I have tidied the living room and kitchen:o As it is getting tidier outside it is getting messier inside. So I have an incentive to get tidying this morning now:D

PRINCESSX87 I am very similar to you, I lose all interest very quickly. The 15 minute bursts of tidying definately works though. Goodluck with your paperwork.

I have a sick child too, and the plan is to sort out the living room and finish off the kitchen cleaning from yesterday while ministering to him. I have hung a washing out too, as it is finally dry today!
