Rigs I know just what you mean. I can happily lose myself on the interweb for hours at a time if I'm not careful, I play games, chat to friends and if I have any research to do then I'm happy as a pig in a wallow.
Weeded front flowerbed and planted two shrubs DD bought me for mothers day (yes planting them is well overdue). Someone is offereing free A4 cardboard box files, so will ask DD to pick these up tomorrow which will solve more of the paperwork crisis.
Housework will go by the board as it's sunny here in Cornwall and I need to get plants out of the polytunnel into the ground.
My late mother was a domestic goddess (albeit a rather short one). She was always tutting at my lack of domesticity, which is why I think I rebelled (or maybe I'm just a lazy moo when it comes to housework).
Baby steps will get me there eventually.;) Have a good day all.0 -
Hi everyone well I did not stick to my pledge but Ill try to do better today. Iv cooked the chicken but as we have no potatoes they will have to have frozen chips.
Im just about to clear my desk. Its a mountain of rubbish.
The cat sleeping on the clean washing struck a cord as Im forever putting off putting the laundery away once dry.
Anyway peeps will pop in later.0 -
Afternoon all...
I didnt get much done last night, i did declutter the sofas again tho! But then i had a friend round to do me a tattoo so not much else got done lol. This morning however i was on a mission! I cleared and cleaned my bathrooms, and sorted out everyones clothes, mine and 3 kids....i now have 5 bin liners full of clothes ready to go to the clothes bank....they will be gone in the morning! I also cleaned and cleared my kitchen, just need to do the floor when kids have stopped running in n out. Now im having 5 mins before i go tackle my dining room. I have a corner in there that has all sorts of junk piled in it. Im going to set myself a half hour timer and see how much of it i can get cleared. Trying to get as much done as i can at the min as my mum has s skip in her garden and it then saves me paying out for one lol
Hope your all having a good day and have enjoyed your weekends0 -
Hello Messies
I have managed to get a little more motivated today after a rubbish start to the weekend which involved a stroppy stepson moaning about the mess in his room. As far as I'm concerned he is nearly 18 and it's his job to clean it and change his bed clothes - neither of which he ever does as it is below him. His Dad keeps giving in and doing it which drives me mad - he works hard enough without having to baby a lazy teenager.
Also I took everyone out for a day out the other day (I'm the only driver) and on our return he stood outside and said something to his girlfriend about being back at the dump .:mad::mad::mad: I nearly told him to "%£& off to his mums if it's not good enough, but she doesn't want him. That's another story.
Sorry I shouldn't moan but I work really hard with special need youngsters, bringing home paperwork and there's only so many hours in the day. It really upset me which made me even more annoyed that I let his stupid comments get to me.
Anyway back to the usual of baby steps today and I did 3 loads of washing and tidied the bedroom. Not much but it's something.
I think I will have a nice soak later (when I have cleaned the bath which a certain Mr Perfect has left in a disgusting state).
By the way please don't all turn Flylady - I need all the motivation from reading all your comments.:T1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Parsniphead, as a young adult your SS should really be taking responsibility for himself. If his room is a mess then he should clear it. At 18 after all he could get a flat of his own!
Managed to dredge some motivation up and hoovered the landing bathroom and study and then swept the hallway.
Laundry on the line and another lot in the machine, now worn out having done some gardening as well.
Rain predicted here this week, so will have no excuse for not getting on with 'indoor things'.0 -
Parsniphead, my DS8 and DS11 have both been stripping and remaking their own beds for two years, there is really no excuse for that; his mother and father haven't done him any favours. I would start charging him for maid services. I am serious, dock his pocket money for anything over and above the norm, he should be contributing to the housework, and his father should be putting his foot down if you don't feel able to.It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I am terrified to clean my oven! The last time my oh did it I was about 7 weeks pregnant and he used that oven pride stuff. The smell lingered for weeks (though he said he couldn't smell it) and it would make me gag everytime I went into the kitchen
I've not done anything cleaning wise today but I have been very mse!! I was given a Moses basket by my inlaws and was given 4 black bags of baby clothes and a beautiful highchair by my cousin
This the highchair sorry the pic is a bit small! It has only been used twice!Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Evening all
Sorry I've not been on but I've been poorly, I've suddenly developed some kind of intolerance to eggs!!! I'm ok if they are used in cake mixture or the like but on their own [poached, boiled etc] I can't stomach them - pardon the pun!! So I've had a poorly day today and am now off eggs big time which is a shame cos I love them in a sandwich.
I bought, yesterday, 6 little baskets that fit A4 size paperwork and are about 6" high, £6 for the 6 from MrT. My mission over the next 2 weeks is to sort out all the paperwork that is in various piles around the house and put each years worth in a basket and apart from this years, the rest go up in the loft until Jan 2012 when this years will go up there and the contents for 2007 will be burnt/shredded. It will hopefully make filing so much easier - well thats the plan
Rigs - I have an addiction to this bloomin machine too and its the evil cause of my laziness lol
Ironing to do tonight or kiddies and DH have nothing for school/work
See you all tomorrow
Helen x
PS Greyqueen - I was thinking off you the other day and your pile of envelopes has reminded me - could you paint the back of your kitchen door with blackboard paint [or a space on the wall] and then wite your lists on them - I'm gonna do that when I redecorate the kitchen :]Projects made for craft fair - 40
