  • Evening everyone, lovely to see so many new faces. I've not done much today as this cold is still sapping my energy & my sister and nephew came round for a few hours.

Today I swept the kitchen floor twice! 2nd time as dd and spaghetti was not the best combination :-) DW hokey cokey, set WM for tonight. That doesn't seem much but I can't think what else I did.

Gillybean you've done loads today but remember your little one wasn't born that long ago and your body is still recovering, please take good care of your self.

seeing your pix and that you're a singleton too, i can see myself becoming like you one day,

Oh dear - not sure what do you mean? How old do you think I am? How old are you? LOL

i don't know why you bother doing it every day. gets rather tedious for you. how long does that take in mins, if you don't mind?

About an hour. Does not seem like much but if one considers I get home at 6:30 the earliest (more likely 7pm), take the dog out for an hour then that hour tidying up (if I do it) it is 9 pm..... I have to get up before 6am so TRY to go to bed before 11. Theoretically then have 2 hours for ermmm myself - eat, have a bath etc. In practice not really as take the dog out again just before going to bed and clean the litters again before going to bed (4 indoor cats - even when they go out - the moment I call them/bring them back in - 1 floor flat) they are running to litter boxes.....sigh....

    nite niote
  • oh GR, didn't mean to put you out there.. meant that you're a singleton like me and that i wasn't implying anything about age at all. i'm 42 btw (bet you're younger than me anyway!)
BUT, i can see myself getting more cats (when i saw your cutie furrie balls of lov, i wanted some of that myself!) but atm, can't afford to (worried about the future when my lil' man might need expensive treatment one day, so cannot let myself be saddled by the expense of feeding more lil' but v. hungry mouths, injections, neuturing costs etc., as it does add up, doesn't it. i struggle now as a singleton paying for everything...
  • ops... Teddy said I should introduce him too.....

meet my 9kg of a gentle giant ;)

  • aww they're soossooso ready for you, they are! have you got a small body to fit in that small section of the bed there? mine's a king so my lil' one has plenty of room between me and the bed. wished he'd sleep on me (sometimes he would between my legs, but not so comfortable as i'd like to sleep on my side) or near my face, rather than the either half way down or bottom corner.

    nn

ps. aha - we're not so far apart in age, are we!
  • This is a double bed....

Teddy ONLY ever sleeps when I put a very soft blanket on, this is his spot, on the blanket at the bottom of the bed.

Zara the dog comes over for a cuddle and then hits the floor - too hot for her.

Macius the baby waits till I am almost asleep and then pounces on me out of nowhere and positions himself right on top of me so I can not move.

Then Fred comes over and lies on my side or gigs himself under the duvet.

George finally arrives and sleeps next to Teddy..

I am 5 foot nothing so we cope ;)
  • NO cat tree is big enough for Teddy but.. he is hanging on ;)

OH complained the house smelt musty when he got in & I got a lecture about not drying washing in the house without ventilation. (Remeber last winter when I got told off for opening the windows and letting the cold air in?!)

Today he pointed out that we need to do some gardening this weekend because its a godawful mess out there.

Errrrmm yeeeeees. What does he think I've been trying to tell him for the last 6 weeks with statements like "the garden is a mess", "I'm struggling to find a time when I can put washing on", "I'm not coping with trying to stay on top of all the housework in the few hours of the few evenings I'm home", "I've given up on hoping to do the garden, I'm never at home during daylight hours", "I need you to stop working 12 hour days leaving me with all the housework because I can't cope".

Sigh. Maybe one day he'll listen. In the meantime, I'm going to stop listening to his complaints. Bet he won't have done anything when I get home from work tonight either.

Send him over to mine - cam home to floor (hallway, kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom) covered in dog poo - Zara (40kg German Shepherd) obviously has an upset stomach after breaking into a bag of cat food (furball controll and dental control) and gobbling up nearly the whole bag yesterday while I was at work.

The result I am just about to clean now... Had to sit down first (and bang my head on my desk).

I am not even going to mention cat litter boxes - 4 cats... all day...

    Anyone feels sorry for me????
