Afternoon Messies, and welcome rosieposies! As Emms, said, your list of 'to do' is exhausting just to read. Well done to you both for being so determined to set it all right, which you will, simply because you want the place to be yours. Do keep us informed as to your progress and, when you feel that little or no progress is happening, then we'll do our best to encourage you. As for studying in your 'spare time', keep going. It's worth it in the end. :)

And well done, alec e. Some people do just operate better earlier in the day, don't they? And it's a good feeling later on, when you know tasks have already been done.

Emms, your DGD is obviously not one for putting clothes away, is she? That must mean that you not only have to pick it up, but have to sort it all, too? What a pain that must be.

Apart from the stables, little else has been done today, although I've put the last item I've received into the newsletter. Don't know what will happen about the front page.

Cats were due for their 2nd jab this morning, but only Garfield went cos we couldn't catch Star. The vet's coming here instead, on Friday.
  • I don't function well early in the morning, I'm a bit of a zombie but when I come round it's good to know that I did something as soon as I got up!
  • Hi

Still feeling dodgy but have lots to do.
Have agreed a friend can stay in sons room for a while whilst he sorts out a place to stay only problem is he arrives sometime tonight and I've just ventured up there. It's a pit. Son now back of uni. I'm still weak from illness. OH worse than useless. What to do. Oh well if it's not good enough for friend he will move on quicker but I do feel guilty.

Of course true to my name I've spent most part of the day reading, anything but facing the task. Off to find some crockery and cutlery def not allowed in bedrooms but that's never stopped them.

    Bye for now

  • AE, I know what you mean. I feel really good for getting some of my stuff done `early` today - I think we all differ on what we call `early` though!
Gillybean, I call 6am `night-time` - unless it`s a work day!! It`s different if there`s a young baby in the house (I dimly recall such days...) and you wake up early anyway.
Bearcub, do you think Star got the vibes that Something was going on?? It`s great that the vet will come to the house for her. I remember one of our old dogs years ago (rescued in middle-age) who hated going in the car (any car) but he loved the vet! We only had to say " let`s go see Mr Harris" & keep repeating the vet`s name and the dog would jump in the car wagging his tail.

I`m still steaming on with my jobs -
3 more WM loads, last one just gone in. Lines are full, and house looks like a Chinese laundry, but I`ll make a fire later that will enable me to get the last stuff dry overnight. LR rugs will take another day`s drying over doors before I can stash them in caravan though.
Kitchen cleared, and a Morrocan chicken experiment ready to go in oven for tonight. Smells good - we`ll eat it watching Downton on i-player.
Procrastinator - our cutlery migrates to DS or DGD`s rooms. So do mugs....
  • An hour later and no noticable difference but one bin bag and loads of recycling...hope the council will take it all!

How can you love someone so intensely and also hate them so much. Hating myself right now.

The dust is unbearable, especially with my cough. Found a lovely clean yellow duster though. Wonder what he thought it was for?

Daily I asked him to clear at least some of the rubbish. I could cry.

  • Hello Messy folk,

I used to post in the early days of the thread but disappeared (under the mound of messiness no doubt) Anyway, I'm back because I'm seeking like minded individuals to feel comfortable with.

I'm a typical Piscean so I will do anything to avoid actually doing the clearing up that I am meant to. "I'll wash up after this cup of tea" or "Let me watch this programme and then I'll do the ironing." Guess what? The washing up and ironing never gets done!

So I'm hoping this thread will give me a bit of gentle encouragement and you all seem to have a good sense of humour and positive attitude!

Iron is ready as we speak! Catch you later :D

    Afternoon Messies.
Don't think I've seen the tops of our kitchen cupboards since we moved in 7 years ago, dogstar. OH did when he painted the walls, but apart from that .....
i did promise myself that i'd do it as one of my twice yearly deep cleans but seemed to have slipped the habit:o
don't think i can manage the cupboards til tomorrow (maybe???)
well guess what, i didn't manage them!
miss that cat a lot.. got another ginger boy (plus 3 more) now but Tiger was Tiger.....i'm missing my first baby furrie cat still who i lost nearly 2 years ago in that terrible hoary winter we had. she must got knocked over and hobbled to the nearest shelter. she was missing for 3 days til someone noticed my Missing poster. she'd died in their back passage and this was only round the corner from me too. she's at peace now overlooking a big lake and wildlife around her:cry::cry::cry:

This is how he slept with my daughter:
P1030915-1.jpg?t=1270396189my current one like yours (cute ginger!) sleeps with his chin resting on me, whether my hand, or somewhere where there's bit of a 'ledge' to rest on!:p:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea
Yup - re run with litter trays/vacuming, wash my clothes, clean kitchen window and .. God knows what else.. depends how much "damage" will the fury lot inflict on the flat overnight....
i don't know why you bother doing it every day. gets rather tedious for you. how long does that take in mins, if you don't mind?

I am single too (very happily single) - all my 4 cats are boys.. Zara the dog is a girl LOL
seeing your pix and that you're a singleton too, i can see myself becoming like you one day, but as money's so tight it's so hard to juggle money and thinking about rescuing more cats
