Fantastic news Cat, I'm so happy for you.

I've actually managed some demessing today, planning on doing some more shortly. Just sitting down for a quick cuppa and a sneaky piece of chocolate.

I have know idea why this has only just appeared I post this at about 5pm.

Aww thank you BB! I'm already making plans for it, which I shouldn't really! Well - they're plans I already had when I got my little bit of mum's legacy, but didn't have enough for. Like passports. I've never had a full one. :o Not that I'll be able to afford to use it, but it would be nice to have:rotfl:

Well done on your demessying! I've got nothing else to report. What have you done? :) x

    Evening Messies.

Not sure what happened to today, but I somehow didn't get in here to post, although I did read through some of today's posts.

First of all, Cat, such good news about the CTC! :T Very annoying about the meal, and you could have so done with a celebratory meal, too. I am pleased for you about the credits, though. :)

FA, wonderful news about the new dogs. I'd be excited, too. Sorry, can't advise on insurance, as the only pet insurance we have is for the horses.

Laurel, a dedicated study space may well help your DD - I hope so, anyway, although the 'scare' may have done the trick!

Sonastin, what are we going to do with you and your slovenly ways? ;) There's only so much kicking we can give you when your OH is just about to walk through the door. :rotfl:

Buffy, I have this horrible feeling that, from now on, you'll be known as Buggy. I can imagine how awful it must be to feel trapped where you are. Was that why you were clearing the shed? ;) Sorry I know it's not something to joke about really, when it's all so upsetting. <hugs> PS did you find a caravan on ebay?

Jps, if you're sploshing paint around, you could end up with some interesting effects.

Today, I don't feel as if I've done too much de-messying, but I actually got quite a bit done. As I had to put away some clean bedding, I decided to take the whole lot out of the drawer under the bed, and sort it. I ended up with one tablecloth that's so stained that it's not worth keeping, plus two single sheets that will do as dust sheets when we decorate. They can go in the loft tomorrow. Just removing those, and tidying the rest means nothing's now getting creased. I cleaned the lounge windows (the famous Stardrops does a really good job!), and cleaned the hob (again), and the work surfaces. OH had to go over to Mum's and read the water meter for her, so I did most of the washing-up before he got back. I'm feeling quite virtuous, or I would do if I hadn't started an argument with someone on FB. I've now deleted what I posted, and apologised. :o

Evening everyone as I mentioned earlier I have been demessing today and it felt great.

    I managed:
1 1/4 hours in the kitchen (this was over 2 1/2 hours as their were lots of interuptions)
    1/2 hours tidying the car
1/2 hours cleaning the living room
2 hours admin for a local group I help out with
1 1/4 hours sorting the hall (its larger than average but not grand, their is still masses to do in there including sorting the shoe rack & coat cupboard and clearing out the cubbyhole & window sill also the stairs need hoovering) this is a space I would really like to get to grips with so I am able to open the door with out embarressment :o
Also found OH keys which he put down some where random (as he generally does) yesterday. Luckily when we was going to work at 6 am he decided to take my set for his car as oppose to waking the whole searching for them.

Off now to watch something self indulgent on iplayer.

Does putting the world to rights with my ma count as a job done?! Only just got home. It was a lovely meal and nice to catch up but didn't realise how late it'd got. Have managed to bring my bag of dusty work clothes in from the car and put them in the washing machine so I suppose that's something. Need to iron a shirt for work tomorrow (linen so can't fake this one!) and then I'll put the ironing board away so surely that will count too? OH hates it when I leave the iron out and insists on putting it away after I've used it. Trouble is he hasn't decided where it lives yet so I have to hunt for it when I want it. Not sure where I should put it away - can't remember where I found it last. Perhaps I should leave it on the side and just put the ironing board away for tonight.

I have to confess that I am revelling in being able to be so lazy but I really shouldn't get too used to it. Can't go back to the way I used to live and climbing back out of the pit is going to be a whole lot harder the longer I leave it. As long as I do something each day, it can't get too bad can it?
