((hugs)) buffy, hope you've had something nice to eat :) xx

I don't know why this is, but at least 50% of the time I type "buggy" instead of buffy and have to correct it....:o

I'm feeling really stressed, the CTC guy was mean to phone today at 2pm, no call yet. I'm really panicking in case he didn't get my number down correctly, or he's just forgotten :( I know, I know - what's the worst that can happen? Only that I'll have to phone them back and go through the whole dratted process again. Wish I'd taken a note of his name but of course, I didn't :/ I really need to chill, it's no big deal, right???

eta he phoned - and, joy of joys, something I really wasn't expecting in a million years - it's apparently being backdated to the 6th April!!!!!:j:j

G&T in the garden sounds great! Good news of the CTC backdating *yay*

Just had a run round the house when I realised I'd spent the day reading about vegan baking and not getting much done. So I gave the bathroom a wipe over, henry'd everywhere, then cleaned henry, tidied my quilting stuff away along with the shopping list and loads of other bits of paper, did the washing up, cleaned the sink and wiped the fridge, swept the kitchen floor and sorted out some bits and bobs that didn't seem to have a home. Going to take the recycling out now, put the laundry bag away then eat some chilli and relax.

    Enjoy your evening.

aw ((hugs)) buffy. I'm always astounded how much worse a bad mood gets when you're hungry. OH is particularly bad for tipping over the edge when he's ready for food. And then he gets angry with me for suggesting that *whatever the current crisis is* can be resolved with a biscuit. Well the crisis is rarely resolved but his ability to deal with it gets much better!

Strikes me that living together is the cause of a lot of your problems - is there any realistic possibility of moving out? If you could do it, it would do wonders for your sanity. And might improve your relationship with your mum too. There's nowt like living on top of each other to ruin a relationship.

Cat - aye, the 90 minutes thing is a worry. I hadn't really realised it till I was typing last night. I'm keeping a close eye on his work schedule now to try to get a bit more warning (I know, should just clear up instead!) The number of times when I used to get a phone call Friday lunchtime saying "not worth starting anything now so I'm just going to set off up to yours" left me in a cold sweat - bang went the clearing up time between work & his expected arrival time! I used to pray for an accident on the M6 - you know, nothing so serious that the people involved were really hurt. Just a bit of a shunt which would cause a big enough traffic jam to buy me the time to make the house respectable! Thankfully you could usually rely on there being a traffic jam on the M6 on a Friday afternoon :rotfl:

Dinner tonight with my ma but then I'm going to go home and do at least one job. That is my baby-step plan for this evening :D Wish me luck :T

Yep I should totally move out. things is.......well 1. I can't get a mortgage, 2. Not sure what it would do to Mum money wise. Plus I have spent time and money here and now don't have any to spend on my own place. The next six months will be the decider.

Good luck with the baby step plan x

Blimey FA you are definitely going to enjoy relaxing on that holiday! It's much nicer coming back to a tidy house, so I don't blame you for having a blitz before you go. Just don't wear yourself out totally!

Buffy, hope things improve with food (I find chocolate very medicinal for those moments).

    Good luck Sonastin!

As you can tell I am spending more time on my backside than actually doing stuff, but washing machine is on constantly and I am getting to the bottom of the box room of doom now. Slowly. :o

I had a wispa and painted some of the hutch. not the best day. But ok.

oldtractor and alec - great day's work!:T I hate bits and bobs which don't have a home, I seem to have a multitude of them. Glad you're liking your new bathroom stuff OT, amazing what a difference these things make :).
Yep a G&T sounds lovely!! I have a little bit of a bottle of red left and might have that tonight. I'm trying not to count my chickens and get too excited until the money is in the bank, though I was so taken aback I didn't even ask if it would be divided up or paid in a lump sum! If I get it, I might treat myself to a bottle of gin, something I usually only do at Christmas :)

Since the phone call I've ventured to the shops, took some rubbish out, and flattened a whole load of large cardboard boxes which had been cluttering up the living room/hall. They'd been sitting there for weeks but are finally ready to go to the dump :)

Kids are getting Indian takeaway for tea, I'm being good and sticking to the boring old diet lol.

I should schedule another small job for this evening really, try and get back in the swing of things. Hmmm.....

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:thanks BuFFy!! :D Glad to see you took jps's advice about the chocolate. And hey, you got something done, an "ok" day is a hundred times better than a carp one :) xx

I can see how it would be really tough for you to move out, it's the same for so many people these days :( I'd have gone completely round the twist by now if I had to live with my mother (bless her!!!) Actually it might be a toss-up as to who went round the twist first :P

Buffy-next door's adult son has come back to live with him...after a month or so, a caravan appeared on the drive. :D

I'm in no position to comment, because it's exactly the same solution we found when my parents had to come and live with me when I came out of hospital four years ago... ;)

Brilliant Cat, what great news! I would celebrate by making mess (in the course of having a lovely tea and putting my feet up instead of doing the dishes)

Well done Buffy, one thing achieved is better than total wipeout. Making the best of a not-perfect home (whether it be who we share it, the condition it's in, location or our neighbours, etc.) is what almost everyone has to do, there are drawbacks everywhere.

Oldtractor and alec, congrats on conquering that mess!

I'm STILL working on the box room of doom, but almost ready to start sploshing paint around now! I might experiment with painting the floorboards in there, as it really doesn't matter if it looks carp.

Thanks jps! I tried to stick to the diet and eat last night's leftovers, which last night consisted of lots of veg, a couple of small spuds and two sausages. When I went and got them out the fridge, there was some veg, one lonely little spud and NO sausages! Little vultures! So I had to defrost leftover sausage and carrot pasta and eat that too :o

Good idea to experiment in the RoD! Sounds like a lot of fun :D
